I like the auto climate control. 95% of the time it's on, and all I have to do is adjust the temperature. With the high humidity in south Louisiana, the A/C is needed, even when heating, to keep the windows clear. With the V6 I don't even notice when the compressor kicks on, and I doubt the mileage is that much worse. I'll gladly give up a mpg or two, for the simple operation of automatic climate control. With the weather we're having right now, we use the heat in the morning, and A/C in the afternoon, so the one knob control is much easier than switching everything manually.

I have had this van since new. It is slowly falling apart. Passenger electric window not working, rear wipers not working, transmission very sluggish. Now the steering seems to be going out. We have to warm up car for it to turn. What could be the problem and how could we remedy it?

You can manually shut off the A/C thru the Navi screen. Use the button right of the screen for A/C, you will see the A/C ON/OFF selection on the screen.

I know how to do that but I don't think that overrides the auto climate control, does it?

I think pushing any button (besides the temperature knob) is going to override the auto climate control (turn it off). My auto light will go out, if I push any other button.

I agree. I'll have to check it out next time I'm driving but I don't believe that you can turn off the AC and still use the auto climate control. Same with defrost in the Navi units. I know some have found a way to turn off AC with the defrost in the non-navi units though.

When I manually turn off the A/C, the "Auto" light does turn off. Although it is off, the system will still maintain and adjust the temperature as well as it can, as long as the outside temp is cool. The dual temp display is still lit, and I can readjust the temperature settings. "Auto" with the A/C off is probably best described as Heat Only Auto.
I would have to try, but I would agree the A/C will turn on if I use the defrosters.

I PURCHASED AN 08 ACCORD EXL, AND AM DISAPPOINTED TO THINK AFTER PAYING ALL THAT MONEY, THEY DON'T INCLUDE A LOW WINDSHIELD WASHER FLUID LIGHT. THE MANUAL SAYS CANADIAN MODELS ONLY. GUESS THE AMERICAN MODELS DON'T NEED TO KNOW WHEN THE WASHER FLUID IS LOW.
I KNOW IT IS A MINOR THING, BUT AS I SAID WITH ALL THE BELLS AND WHISTLES , YOU WOULD THINK THEY WOULD PUT IN A LIGHT INDICATOR FOR THAT

I've never seen a vehicle besides our '94 LeBaron GTC Convertible that had this feature. I just check the fluid when I check under the hood about once a month. Not a big deal really.
I hope you enjoy your new Accord!!
Merry Christmas!
