Just finished upgrading rears to 255/40 R17 (94Y) stock rims, Bridgestone Potenza RE050A, Pole Position tires, which can be rotated right to left on rear. Have fronts upgraded to 225/45 R17 (91Y), stock rims, Bridgestone Potenza RE050A, Pole Position tires. I suggest each S2000 owner pay for annual 4 wheel alignment. My front tires were wearing badly on inside only, due to needed adjustments, but were hard to see wear pattern due to low ground clearance. Gas mileage for my 2006 is between 22 mpg (in town) & 30 mpg (highway, w/cruise at 65 mph). Frequent VTEC episodes will reduce mileage & allow police to advise you whether your odometer is properly adjusted for tire upgrades. Have fun & Happy Holidays. I'm still on the fence if I should get a slightly softer sidwall but I'll probably stick with the potenzas. Aside from being very slick when cold, they are really good tires for my driving style. Replying to: accelerator (Dec 03, 2008 5:54 pm) I priced Pole Position (PP) tires at tirerack.com (add about $45 shipping). Went with Sam's Club & paid about $80-100 more for 4 tires. Sam's Club prices include shipping, shipped to local store in about 4 week days, installed & balanced, provides flat fix guarantee, & provides unlimited balancing/rotation (one side to other side for PP tires), for life of tires, along with mileage warranty which is not really appropriate for 'soft', 'high traction' PP tires for S2000. Fronts get installed today. Local Sam's Club does not provide all wheel alignment. I suggest your local Honda dealer for 4 wheel alignment each year to correct toe in, toe out (my car's prior problem), or improper camber. But, after I factor in mounting, balancing, a few puncture repairs each year, and stuff like that, I found that Costco was just as cheap in the long run, and more conventient. Ditto for Sam's Club, I imagine. Discount has been good to me in the past, too.

I found out recently that two S2000 owners work at a local discount tire company and are quite active on the S2ki.com boards for my local chapter. I'll be visiting with them. I believe I have enough tread to make it through the holidays although I need to get my car inspected (due in november, oops). It my tires dont pass inspection, then I may be getting them sooner.   One final question about the Pole Position tires, are there any profile differences (the space between the wheel and the fender)? I've never found tires cheaper at Discount than anywhere else, and I've really looked!   Personally, I tend to buy harder tires (I measure soft tires in months, not years). So my preferences are different than many. Here are the ones I've used so far as well as my grade for each:   Potenza SO2 - F (Lasted 9 months. Average grip. Way too pricy.) Kumho 712 - F (Lasted 6 months. Good grip. Followed road grooves extensively. Cheap!) Hankook Ventus HCII - B+ (Lasted 2 years. Good grip. Excellent road behavior. Kinda pricy.) Fuzion ZRi - A- (Lasted 3+ years (I got rid of them for the sake of track duty). Good grip. Followed road grooves. An excellent day-to-day tire. Not so great on the track. Super cheap!) Falken 512 - A- (Lasted 2 years so far, I expect 5 years. Great grip. Excellent day-to-day tire. Good track tire. Moderately priced.)   Again, my S is supercharged and I participate in SCCA, so my experience is more extreme than most.
