My stats are skewed slightly because of the supercharger, but here it goes:

Best: 34.6mpg - all highway on 93 octane gas (TX)
Worst: 18mpg - city driving + 2 SCCA events

I average around 20 in the city and 30ish (emphasis on the "ish") on the highway. Combined, I have no idea. My commute is ~4 miles.

I've had mine for right at 10 months and here lately with top up, I've been averaging 24.8 mpg. I drive 28 miles one way, the first 8 miles are stop-n-go, and the remaining 20 miles are hiway speeds between 60-75 depending on traffic flow... Also on 93 octane in Texas.

estreka,
The superchargers pushes your mpg almost 10 mpg higher? Wont take too long to pay for itself if the gas prices keep rising!

The supercharger was free, courtesy of Vortech. My car was the tester model for their centrifugal supercharger. Needless to say, my car undertook a great deal of test and tune which I'm sure accounts for the mileage.

Where does the line start???

Didn't you recently post something about this at S2Ki? I'm sure there are more than one test car out there, but something about your post does sound a bit familiar.

I am a member *pulls out his s2ki card*, but I haven't posted there in quite some time.

Running a straight S2000 here in AZ. No special tricks except for an engine treatment additive and fuel supplement. My log book for 17,000 miles indicates an average of 24 MPG and yet on two trips to the mountains recently I got 40 and 39 mpg. Sounds crazy but its true. Went up the hill to Payson at 90 mph, so I was not pussy footing. On the second trip, coming back I documented 32 mpg, but only because I was stuck behind a Swift Tractor Trailer for 25 minutes while I turned 2500 rpm at 25 mph. Reason for the great mileage: negative friction.

I would LOVE to take this car to the mountains! Back in 1995, I drove an acura intregra GS-R once in the base of the rocky mountains in Manitou Springs, Colorado and despite being FWD, it was a total blast!

Gas Mileage; Advice on New Rear Tires by jkgreer2

To All lucky S2000 owners, I need new rear tires and seek advice on replacements. I do not accelerate aggressively most of time, but I love going around curves (no brakes, Mom). Sam's Club offers the original tires at $200 each, Goodyear Eagle F! tires at about $180 each, and Dunlop tires at about $130 each.
Any other suggestions for maximizing handling and performance in rain? My gas mileage ranges from about 22 mpg to about 28 mpg, but who cares due to the way this car handles? Thank you in advance for any tire advice. 2006 S2000 Owner.

Have you checked out Tirerack.com yet? If you go through the wizard, they can recommend some tires that might work for you. There is a brand, sudukoma (spelling?) that seem to be popular and cheap. If you are looking to extend the life of your rear tires, you may look at have the toe/camber adjusted to not be so agressive. I have 15k on my rears and I'll be replacing them after this summer is over (my front wheels are in great shape). Personally, I want to keep the tread pattern the same on all fours but not really sure it matters as long as the FR and the FL match and the RR and the RL match.

Either way, let us know what you do. You may also want to check out s2ki.com. I know this topic gets brought up from time to time to time to time... It is a trade-of of performance vs. comfort vs. budget.

Also, I think your driving style matchines mine. If I really get on it during the week, I'm at 22mpg and if I back off a bit, 28mpg easy.

Thanks for your suggestions. After comparing rear tires via Tirerack.com, it appears that Goodyear Eagle F1 have a high rating for wet traction, high rating for dry traction, and a Tread life value of 280, vs Tread life value of 140 for Bridgestone Potenza RE 050 ('sticky' tire for great dry handling). I see no way to evaluate any change in gas mileage for rear tires fitting S2000, but gas mileage is not a major issue for S2000. My primary need is for wet and dry traction. The NASCAR wannabes in N. Alabama and central TN are complete idiots when it rains, and I need great wet traction to stay away from trucks and SUVs. If anyone has Goodyear Eagle F1 rear tires, please comment on whether handling improves, is same, or not compared to Potenza rear tires. Top down & enjoying the S2000!
