If you are so inclined, the oil is very easy to self-change. In many Honda cars, a timing belt replacement is required at 90K-110K miles. The S2000 (AP2 anyway) has a timing chain, which is much more durable, and should last 250K miles. Tell her how good she'll look in it! Good Luck. |

About 23 mpg here. Mostly city driving, top down, no a/c, and slightly heavy foot. Not as good as an Mx-5 Miata but definitely better than an Rx-8............. |

Running a straight S2000 here in AZ. No special tricks except for an engine treatment additive and fuel supplement. My log book for 17,000 miles indicates an average of 24 MPG and yet on two trips to the mountains recently I got 40 and 39 mpg. Sounds crazy but its true. Went up the hill to Payson at 90 mph, so I was not pussy footing. On the second trip, coming back I documented 32 mpg, but only because I was stuck behind a Swift Tractor Trailer for 25 minutes while I turned 2500 rpm at 25 mph. Reason for the great mileage: negative friction.

To All lucky S2000 owners, I need new rear tires and seek advice on replacements. I do not accelerate aggressively most of time, but I love going around curves (no brakes, Mom). Sam's Club offers the original tires at $200 each, Goodyear Eagle F! tires at about $180 each, and Dunlop tires at about $130 each. Any other suggestions for maximizing handling and performance in rain? My gas mileage ranges from about 22 mpg to about 28 mpg, but who cares due to the way this car handles? Thank you in advance for any tire advice. 2006 S2000 Owner.
