Many people seem to be having the same dissatisfaction as you. I have had exceptional service from two dealers and have purchased 11 cars and trucks from these dealers since 2000 for me, my kids and mom. When I priced my TCH I told them what was going on across the country, but that I expected a "token" discount if they wanted to continue selling me Toyotas.

In addition to these 11 vehicles I had also purchased 2 Fords, 1 Infiniti and 2 Nissans and they knew I was willing to walk if I didn't get a deal and that I probably wouldn't be back.

I expect a dealer that wants to be my car dealer to NOT gouge me on the one occasion they have a hot car. This is not a Cobre GT500, this is a Camry for crying out loud. They plan on selling 40,000 of these. Don't tick me off over one sale when they know they will be getting all they can sell soon.

My dealer came through and I'm happy.

I would have walked in your situation and I have in the past. I don't go back and I don't recommend them to friends. I cost dealers like that money!

I had a great experience with Dublin Toyota (SF Bay Area). It couldn't have been easier and it was also low-key. I had my base TCH in my 1st color choice 3 weeks after I put in my deposit. I worked with the Internet staff and I highly recommend them. I hav also used and been pleased with the service department there (this is my 2nd Camry).

Is there any additional maintenance costs associated with the THC and if so, what are they?

Hello all - I am getting ready to take my Camry Hybrid in for its 5,000 mile checkup. Does anyone have any tips on what I should look out for and how much I can expect to pay? Thanks and best wishes

My 5K svc was done last week at the dealer for the price of an oil change, $27.95, which was all they seemed to think needed to be done. Yes, I know, the book calls for a brake inspection and tire rotation.

But, there is a TSB on some (all?) TCHs for brake squeal, which my car had. So the brakes were serviced to correct that and since the wheels were already off, I had them rotate the tires, too.

Since the service, the brakes no longer squeal.

5,000 mile checkup ---basically an oil change

I do the tire rotation simply because my dealer has a "tires for life" program and this is a requirement. My Bridgestones are not going to be high milage tires (21,000 miles currently and needing replaced). I generally would rotate tires anyway (especially on my 4wd) but most of all I would check the tread and see that the tires are wearing evenly. Mine came from the factory out of alignment and started feathering. The idiots that rotated the tires didn't even notice it so I ended up at 10,000 miles having fronts and backs both starting to cup before I got it aligned (under warranty). The cupping didn't affect the overall wear and is not noticible in the ride so I made no big deal out of it, but everyone should check at about 5000 miles to see if theirs are wearing correctly.

None that I am aware of. My maintenance costs are significantly cheaper than the Infiniti I traded for the TCH

I'm with you... after owning a BMW... everything is inexpensive... Toyota's pricing is really reasonable... I pay about $70 for synthetic oil, tire rotation, and the rest, every 5,000 miles.

Add to this the money I am saving getting 39 mpg and I am happy to show up at my dealership. Something I haven't been happy about in a long time...

Though I had to find a better dealership than the one that sold me my car, which I did. Traveling 50 miles each way to work gave me that option. My original dealership gave me an incredible deal but is a bit of a dump... the one I found serves coffee and is just one step below a Lexus dealership... which has always been my favorite for their service and amenities.

3-BMW's, an Audi and Infiniti and I know what high $ maintenance is all about. Of course now the BMW's and Audi are free for 50,000 miles I believe, but the highest dollar maintenance items are typically beyond that time anyway. I'd never own an Audi past the warranty. Then again taking mine to the garage often for niggling problems made me dump it in one year anyway.
