Please report on your RAV4 mileage here (2005 and earlier model years in here please; check the '06 and later discussion for newer models).
Include your odometer reading, city/highway mix, driving style or anything else you think may help others compare their mpg with yours. Thanks!

2001 Rav4 L 4x4 w/ roof rack, spoiler, grill & bumper guard, charcoal canister (n/a in all states), nyc driving
abt 17 mpg local & abt 21 mpg mixed w/ hwy or all hwy.
aside from that, it's a great ride.

We are very happy with our RAV4, its a 2005 full time 4WD. Milage goes from 23 around town, 25 with a mixture of around town and 75mph commute. We have gotten as high as 29 driving in the mountains at 50-60 mph. Milage improved after 25K miles, (this has been true with every new Toy we have owned). This one was not new, but a certified pre-owned w/15K miles. We now have 52K on it.

I hate the size of the new generation RAV4s. Can anyone who owns onw say whether the older, cuter ones get better mileage than the bigger ones? Thanks
