Maybe running regular is part of the problem. I have not had any knocking or other performance issues with it or with A4. Do not recall mileage I got with A4. Just spoke with someone at work about this today as well and he said the improved mileage should offset the added cost for premium fuel.   Your mileage experience is great - I'm going to go do some looking this weekend. Replying to: anne618 (Jan 23, 2007 2:22 pm) I wouldn't recommend using regular fuel for a high compression ratio engine like the Lexus IS 250 V6. You would not notice it at first, but there could be major mechanical problems later on. Engine knock might be the least of your problems.   If premium fuel is too expensive,I would recommend that you buy the V6 Camry XLE instead. It has way more bhp than the IS 250, and is pretty plush on the inside too.   Unfortunately, premium cars were designed for premium fuel.

I'm looking to buy a 2007 Lexus IS 250 and understand that I can order one custom-built from Japan and get exactly what I want in 90 days. I was wondering if anyone has had experience doing this. Is there a "deadline" to order the 2007s from Japan? And when is the earliest one could order the 2008 models from Japan?   Also, how are the inventories looking now that the 2007s have been out for a bit? Might nix the need to order from Japan in the first place. Replying to: toydriver (Jan 22, 2007 4:04 pm) is250 with 5,000 miles.   mix highway city driving i get 20-21 overall. long trip on the highway and i got 28-29. overall i've been disaapointed with teh fuel economomy - i realize its cold and has some effect but i drive very easy - ive gone for an entire tank of fuel keeping it 2,000 rpm or below and gotten 20-21 mpg. i would expect 22-23 minimum. plus manual tracking shows the tank average to be about 5% higher than reality.

Hi all, this is my first post. i'm about to buy the is250...but before i pull the trigger, does anyone know if lexus will change that to the is300 by next year(probably this September) with the 3.0 engine from 06 GS. Afterall, the coming mercedes classC and current 3 series all start at 3.0 litre now as base.

I heard that blitz makes a supercharger for the is 350 but only in Japan. Dose anyone have any information about that?

Hi,   I'm looking at getting an IS 350 with all the goodies, but in AZ, have not been able to find one with the sports suspension to try out. Can anyone let me know their impressions of it?   Thanks in advance!
