I guess I was just very surprised.
 
I can search for used 07s, so it's good news for me.
 
I found the perfect car - a used 08 PRHT in that gunmetal color with a tan leather interior - gorgeous. BUT it was $28 grand. That's same-as-new pricing.
 
A while ago fitzmall has a basic PRHT for around $23k, so that's my target price, sort of, for a new one. Used may cost the same but at least it would be more loaded up.

You can get a new PRHT (Sport Model) for like $25K. Mine was $29K since it's the Grand Touring PRHT. Good-luck with your search!

I've been searching for pre-owned PRHT's for our pre-owned inventory, and they are tough to come by.
 
The only one we got was in May, and that was a trade-in at the Chevy dealer down the road from us, and in turn sold it to us. We originally sold it. The guy traded it for a Vette. Which was a car he was considering when he bought the PRHT in the first place.
 
Anyway, it was a 2007 GT in Copper Red with Saddle interior and had 7,000 miles on it. We sold it for $24,990. If you found one now, low $20's should be the asking price.

Hmm, I saw a new one at Fitzmall for $23k, and while that probably had more equipment, that's too close to a new car price. I would just buy new if it's in that range.
 
It sold. I should have nabbed it.
 
What's the asking price on that neighbor's car, out of curiosity?

My '93 has leather...I have to think about whether I want that again or not. It gets a bit hot in the summer (non-perforated).
 
I may choose a used Touring or Grand Touring one, or a new Sport.

I am considering purchasing a 2006 Miata, Touring edition. I am trying to decide between the manual shift or the six-speed Automatic with the manual override. Other than just personal preference, does anyone have any thoughts on which is the better option; performance, reliability, MPG, etc.?

I have an 06 GT, 6 speed manual. Performance, reliability, and MPG are going to be pretty close, so I wouldn't consider them to be major factors. But why would you want to de-emphasize "personal preference?" This is the major reason why I've never bought an automatic in 25 years. It's like paying the kid next door to play with your new toy. The whole point of a car like the Miata is to become more involved with the machinery and the business of controlling it, not less.
 
Go to any big harbor on a nice day, and you'll see lots of sailboats and lots of motorboats. One uses older technology, which is elegant and perfectly serviceable, but takes some time to learn the skills to exploit the wind and waves. The other is more like point and shoot driving. Which skipper would you say is the better seaman? Point and shoot driving is for beginners.
