#1 of 3 Retracting your down payment for Honda Civic Hybrid

Hi there,
Has anyone experienced difficulty when retracting down payment for civic hybrid for waiting list? I gave Capitol Honda in San Jose, California my credit card # for downpayment. After 4 weeks of no car and they promised me a 1 week wait, I went and purchased a sporty VW Passat during the Memorial weekend. I later called Honda to retract my $500 Deposit, and they said they're working on my deposit. It's been 2 days, and i checked everyday, but, no one called me back. This is so absurd. I wonder if I should report them to small claim court or better credit bureau?

Since you paid with a Credit Card, call them up and tell them you're about to call the credit card company and ask them to withhold payment to the dealership if they don't resolve this immediately.

I had trouble getting a deposit back from Metro Honda in Johnston, RI. I contacted Mastercard and was told that they would intervene only if I was able to document trying to resolve this with the dealer. I finally gave up on the sales department, and got a quick resolution going directly through the credit department.
I did buy a 2007 civic hybrid in New Hampshire at Autofair for the same price they wanted for a 2006 in RI.
