Hello my Tribute is currently in the shop for yet another major repair. I am the original owner, purchased it in June 2001, fully loaded and have had it dealer maintained since day 1. It is driven locally and I have a total of 78k on it now. In the last 12 months I have had to replace all 4 brakes, the entire engine, tie rods and numerous other parts that I can't remember but have asked the dealer to intemize. Currently they have informed me that I have to replace the transmission and the suspension. The engine coolant container and sensor also needs to be replaced. I can't believe that this is normal. Should i be kicking and screaming even though the car is past the 3 year warranty? Help?

Talilights - 2001 Tribute & Escape inter-changeable? by mountan

Hi. This is my first post to this site and I am the owner of a 2001 Tribute. Not terribly happy one at the moment (in the shop now for 2nd tranny in 14 months (and not under wty)). Anyway, 'nuff said. I am wondering if the taillights on a '01-'02 Escape will fit in an '01 Tribute. I can't find any Tribute lights anywhere, so am hoping for Escape lights (driver's side). Any ideas? Thanks. Bill

normal operation is to pull shifter towards you and shift to the gear you want, however, no longer need to pull shifter towards you to shift (this occurs between reverse, neutral, drive). any ideas?...manufacturers defect? thanks.

It's my understanding, the tribute with 4WD, is not to be driven in that mode. It is only to be used when in a snow or mud situation and not to be used on hard pavement and at speed.

My tribute starts when it wants to. The fuel pump is coming on, the relays have been replaced, the fuel filter changed 3 times, there is nothing wrong with the battery. Someone is suggesting the accelerator throttle
sensor. Does this make since? If so, where is it?

I have a 2001 Mazda Tribute we cannot find a color code for it, they say its in the door but its not. The Upper color is Desert Metallic and the Lower color is a dark brown. We need to repaint the Front Bumper. Does anyone know where I can find this code? Mazda body shops do not seem to want to help with this.
