It's funny because factory tint, like the tint that came on your explorer is 20% and in most cases...you can match the front windows and have no legal issues. Now...if you have a dark interior, 35% tint will look darker than it really is. So...if you have a light interior, you could get away with 20% tint which is a bit darker than 35%, but the lightness of the interior makes it seem not as dark. Usually, this is one way to get by and not have any legal issues while driving. In the end, go with what you feel most comfortable with. If you go with 35%, if the police pull you over...they can't tell you to take it off because you are within the legal limit. If you have 20% tint on and the cop is in a bad mood and decides to check it (just because) then he can make you remove it and give you a citation for it. Just something to think about. Good luck!!!

I would like to save the costs of having mud guards installed by the dealer. I have found the best price on the mud guards, but do see the problem of getting a screwdriver to the screws to install them myself. Has anyone installed them without taking the tire off? If so, how?

I ordered an offset screwdriver and now going to order the mud guards on eBay. I am too much of a neat freak on my cars to not have them especially since my car is white.
