I ended up buying the RX350 I mentioned for $39K. The dealer was not ready to negotiate the price down. In any case, I ended up trading my 2010 Forester 2.5X premium with 30K miles for $19K. Initially the dealer offered 16K but then increased it to 17K without me saying anything for the Forester and asked for a difference of 22K. I started at 19K difference and we agreed at 20K difference. Plus we got a 2.74% financing for 63 months.
I don't know if I got the best price, but certainly the dealership people were very nice and kept up Lexus customer service expectations. Also, the car is awesome and we love it.

Congrats on your purchase.
When trades are involved it is really difficult to figure best deals. You'd have to know what the REAl (ACV) of your trade is to know. And dealers don't tell you that number. We do know that you can't get a real big discount on the car you are buying, and still get max retail for a trade. It's one or the other. Yours sounds like you probably did get a decent discount off the Lexus in the end total. The bottom line is all that counts, as you know.
You've got a nice car that we know. If it's your first RX, you're going to enjoy it. I've had two so far, and both have been great. Low maintenance, very comfortable to drive, and decent gas mileage for a SUV. And, a Lexus dealer treats you well too, when you are in for service or whatever. It's in their 'code'.The way a luxury car dealer should be. Too bad the others usually are not.
Did you spring for the extra $2000 warranty they were trying to sell you ?

Yes, I did purchase the warranty for $2000 but I have 30 days to cancel it. I asked them if I can buy this later and they said no I can't as this is a CPO. If they had said I won't be able to cancel it, I don't think I would have bought that warranty.
Without extra warranty, the car is covered for 3 yrs/100K miles
With warranty, its covered for 6yrs/100K miles.
Still trying to decide how much I would drive in 3 years given there are 75K miles remaining on the warranty.

As we said earlier, those extra policies are all about risk, and piece of mind I guess. I bought one on a Prius, I bought new in 2008. The factory warranty ran out on it last year. Since it is a hybrid, and I live in a hot climate, and it covered the main Battery($3000 to replace) plus lots of other hybrid stuff, I went for it, and I have an additional 5 years on top of the 3 years the factory one had. So far so good ..no issues where I had to use it ....yet.
As you say, how many miles do you drive, and does the extra warranty cover all the items the Certified does ? Any exceptions ?
I'm sure you'll do some reading on it. Maybe how many miles/age were on your 2010 trade or your other cars might help to decide. And how long you keep a car of course.

All the discussions in this forum have helped me a lot in negotiating the right price for the car. But I am now stuck in the middle of negotiations. I shall be thankful if you guys can help me out.
How much should I pay for a 2012 Lexus RX 350, invoiced in feb end with the following specifications:
Intuitive park Assist
Cargo Net, Cargo Mat, Wheel Locks, Key Gloves.
Dealer Invoice: $46,783
KBB Fair Purchase Price: $46,503
Edmunds TMV: $47,761
My initial offer was $45000 + TTL based on posts here: 90.7 % of MSRP: 45,000. Best dealer can offer is $46,000 + TTL and he is negotiating no more.
What should be the right price to buy this car?
PS: I am in a mid size midwestern town with no other Lexus delaerships in town. I have chaeched near by towns (as far as 300 miles). $46,000 + TTL is the best offer so far.

You're very close.
I'd offer to split it with him, if you are really ready to buy it right then = $45500.00. Best not over the phone.
Is the actual car on the lot ? Or a dealer Trade ?
I think his invoice is $45300. Just my opinion. As you said, this is a newer invoiced car. Where did you get the invoice of $46783, from him ?

Thanks for replying. His invoice is 46,277 + $ 506 (LDA = Lexus Advertising Fees). Dealership is in Des Moines, IA and they are not ready to reduce a single dollar below $46,000.
Any thoughts how prices are going to change for 2012 model after 2013 hits the showrooms?

Did he show you that invoice ? I'm guessing he did of course.
These guys have a invoice they plan on showing, and it is not the real actual invoice price(cost) paid for the car. It is meant to be shown during negotiating. They know most shoppers want deep discounts. Thus they 'pack' the shown invoice.
I imagine that 2013 will not effect the 2012's a whole lot in the beginning. Since its' only a grill/bumper change, you might get a tad more off on the 2012, IF they even have much inventory for a while on the 2013's. Options prices on the 2013 I'm told , will be up again. But, there is a possibility, Lexus will come out with another coupon or buyers incentive offer when the 13's hit. Could be for the 12's or the 13.

They can do better than that.
I got $4480 off my new rx with MSRP of $45680 today in a midsize town. I neogotiated price between two dealers on phone, one in town, one 100 miles away. Talked to both for a week an got an offer at $41500 from the out of town dealer this morning. I knew there were a few hundred dollars room to squeeze. I called and offered 41k to the dealer in town and told him I will drive to the other dealership if he didn't accept it. He said he couldn't do it and counteroffered $41200. I called the other dealer and they couldn't match. So I knew it can't do any better and I walked in the dealership and picked up a color my wife likes.
With a bigger msrp, I'm sure you can knock off another several hundreds dollars. Good luck!
