I'm serious considering buying this vehcle from San Jose, CA and get it shipped to Seattle, Washington, but have no such experience before, can anybody give some advise how to do vechicle purchased from other State and get it delivered to local place? Many thanks!

I am curious to find out how the best-selling luxury SUV in the country is selling for less than sticker? Won't that hurt resale? I would think such a popular SUV would be selling close to sticker --just like the Prius.

That would be pretty outstanding considering this generation Lexus has been out for almost four years now. To be honest, here in the Tampa Bay area, I see an awful lot of Murano's on the road. I have seen hardly any Mazda CX-7's on the road here. I'm wondering if anyone has any data out there on the current sales of the RX350. Getting back to below invoice prices, it probably all comes down to volume selling. |

The first one (RX300) got delivered to my door, the second one (RX350) - I purchased and drove from San Jose 10 days ago. It is not scary as it sounds - either way (delivery or pick up in person). 2 more Edmunds members (both living in Seattle) are doing this as we speak. You can find a lot of dependable auto shippers via reviews on http://www.transportreviews.com/. Door-to-Door delivery prices from San Jose to Seattle should be around $600 all inclusive (carrier insurance, tax, etc). Delivery time from a couple of days if you are lucky to a couple of weeks. If you ship your car from CA you pay all the taxes (9.1%) in WA, none in CA. Send me email (you can see it my Edmunds profile) if you have questions. ZopuhD

I forgot to ask, did the dealership pick you up at the airport? If I knew you were coming that weekend I would have picked you up and let you check out the black leather.. I thought Stevens Creek gave me a fair deal and if nothing more a good laugh a few days later. A fruit basket was delivered to my house and left on the porch. Remembering after buying my last new car (non Lexus) flowers were delivered to my wife, I just assumed it was from Stevens Creek Lexus and / or the salesperson. I placed the basket in my house and left for the afternoon. That evening I opened the card and was surprised the basket was from a car dealership for my neighbor who bought a new car elsewhere and mistakenly left at my door. I told my wife not to feel disenchanted as Stevens Creek did call to make sure I knew where the service department was located………  The all weather mats fit fine and I’ll be heading for the snow next week to try the AWD. I finally decided to go down the proven path of Zopuh and others who bought their cars from Northern California dealers and drove it back to Seattle. Here are my experiences: Researched this car for the whole of December, and wanted to buy the car at or close to Invoice price (who does'nt?). I wanted to time it towards end of year because of the bidding war that tends to start between dealership in winning new customers. I started soliciting quotes a few days before Christmas, and geographically contacted dealerships in Seattle, Portland, Northern and Southern California. The best offers came from dealerships in California. I choose Northern California because of proximity and also because of a cousin who lives there and who was able to do some ground work for me before I went to the dealership. I bought a RX 350 AWD with Prem Package, Nav, 18" wheels, heated seats and few other less expensive options. My MSRP came to 45706. I bought this car at 39388 (same as Zopuh's price) + TTL. Based on the ease with which I was able to get the dealers to agree to that sale price, I now think I may have been able to get the price reduced further if I tried. Overall, I am happy with the car, the price and the overall dealer experience. I bought this car from Putnam Lexus in Redwood City, CA. I considered Lexus of Stevens Creek, but the sales guy I was dealing with blew the deal for himself by changing the car on me a day before I was to go to California. I drove the car back to Seattle area, which is a 13 hour drive but leaves about 2000 bucks in my wallet based on the price difference between Seattle and California. Historically, dealerships in Southern California under cut prices that Northern California dealers offered. I could write more details about my buying experience, or answer specific questions any one out there may have. This board has been extremely helpful in my buying decision, and I will contribute back to this board by talking about my experiences. |

I was kind of late after reading those posts from Zopuhd and others regarding purchasing this vehicle from CA. The sales man from LOSC did not offer that price because it is almost last 2 days of year 2006. I'm not too sure how the price going to be changed during the whole full year. Is year end (Nov or Dec) the best time to get the best offer? Can anybody give some advise or suggestions here? Thanks!
