Just wanted to thank everyone here for taking the time to contribute to this forum. The information I gathered here was critical to my finding an excellent deal on a new RX. Here's how my purchase transpired. Started by pricing an RX350 w/ AWD, Premium Plus Package, Navigation, 18" wheels, rain-sensing wipers, and cargo mat on fleetrates.com. The invoice came out to $39,665, and I submitted an offer for $39,165. I was contacted the next day and offered the vehicle with the addition of heated seats and towing-prep package for $40,748, which is about $600 over invoice. I was not interested in the additional options and thought I could do better. On the advice of a post in this forum (I forgot where) I contacted Kristina Taroni (Internet Sales Manager) at Lexus of Stevens Creek, San Jose CA. I apprised her of the offer from fleetrates and asked if she had the vehicle with only the options I originally listed. She replied almost immediately with an offer of $39,650 for the vehicle I wanted (plus heated seats) (about $500 under invoice). I was satisfied to have reached a price below invoice in a matter of minutes, so I agreed and bought the vehicle the same day. Mine is Flint Mica w/ light gray interior. I also negotiated to $695 for the Xzylon interior/exterior protectant. The interior is very light, I thought it was ivory at first, and my wife and I have a young child whom we do not expect to be too considerate of our pricey new car. I also financed half the price of the car and received a rate of 6.29%, which is given to FICO scores above 730 I believe. I think that is everything. I will try to respond to any questions, but if you are in the Bay Area, all you need to know is Kristina Taroni. She was prompt, assertive, caring, and a pleasure to work with.

Anyone purchase a RX350 with Premium Plus and Nav in NY? How much did you pay? I think the Premium Plus package is a standard in NY. I don't necessarily need the Nav, but if the price is good, it wouldn't hurt. Is the 2008 RX coming out soon? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I am curious to find out how the best-selling luxury SUV in the country is selling for less than sticker? Won't that hurt resale? I would think such a popular SUV would be selling close to sticker --just like the Prius.

Replying to: readerreader (Dec 29, 2006 7:07 pm) wondering, is the RX350 still the best selling CUV in the country? That would be pretty outstanding considering this generation Lexus has been out for almost four years now. To be honest, here in the Tampa Bay area, I see an awful lot of Murano's on the road. I have seen hardly any Mazda CX-7's on the road here. I'm wondering if anyone has any data out there on the current sales of the RX350. Getting back to below invoice prices, it probably all comes down to volume selling. |
