I'd like to share my experience of dealing with the Lexus of Bellevue. I did NOT buy a car from them and probably won't. The salesmen himself was nice with good manners. Everything was supposed to be easy. I test-drove a car (2007 RX350 AWD, Nav, Prem+, Tow prep, 18' wheels, etc. with the MSRP of $45706), explained that I shopped a lot, quoted some deals available out there (both Mission Viejo and Westminster in So. Cal gave me good first quotes - well below the invoice but not at as much as by $1200, yet The salesman started off really high on the price: "$44300 - that's our sale price". Yeah, right. He then went down to lower $43,000s. He later said that the dealership only makes money on this configuration if they sell the car for more than $41,500 and they can't sell a car at a loss. R-r-r-ight. I know that another shopper I happened to talk to got a quote earlier from the Internet Sales manager there for a figure which is lower than this $41,500. The salesman lied to me about that too - he "inquired" about their current internet offers and said that the lowest price they quoted away today on the same car config was $41,900. I said that I'm not buying the car at $41,500 (which is $4200 below the MSRP) so we shook hands and I left. I can't explain why it didn't work - the communication seemed to be fine. Maybe late Friday at the beginning of the month is not a good time for good RX deals, or the salesman already met his sales numbers for the day so he didn't need an extra sale badly. I don't know. By the way, another salesman there mentioned to someone аn advertising fee of $495 that Lexus "always charges" the dealer. So, he said their invoice price is actually $40284 + $495, not what you see ($40284) on Edmunds.com or KBB.com. Not sure how true that is. I don't regret that I didn't buy a car there (well, I still have time to do that elsewhere). I just had a bad feeling that the salesman took me for a complete idiot and lied. I'll try my luck at the Lexus of Seattle. However, buying from out-of-state might still be a good choice (and definitely a better experience). I haven't bought from L of Westminster yet, but I liked the way they treated me from the first contact, and they gave me a very reasonable price on the first quote (although not the lowest I've seen in this forum). Personally, I don't see a big reason not to buy a Lexus out-of-state if the price is good, especially from So. Cal - lucky you are who live there I bought the RX300 from Longo Lexus in the past and shipped it to WA and saved a bunch of money (by switching to Geico, of course Zopuh

Replying to: jacks2 (Dec 10, 2006 7:30 am) I've made by email public in the CarSpace profile. (ZopuhD What is the name of the dealership(s) in the Bay Area you got your quotes from? What's you car's config? Do they have lots of AWDs available (in So Cal they mostly sell FWD RXs). If the price is this low in the Bay Areа I'd rather buy and drive the car to Seattle from there. |
