I am planning to purchase a 2010 RX 350 AWD with Black/Parchment, NV, CP, PM, WU, Tow Prep & 19 inch Alloy wheels.

As per edmunds/kbb/truecar the invoice is close to: $41,535.00

I have been calling many dealers in California and they quote for $200-$500 above invoice. However there is a catch. Their invoice price is much higher than the invoice I found elsewhere. According to them the invoice for this configuration is $43,1xx.00!!

When I mention to them their invoice is way higher than the ones I have and ask what is included, they are not willing to discuss about invoice anymore and start talking about MSRP. Could it be that their invoice is jacked up some how? If I am purchasing a car from them then can I ask them for a break-down of the invoice to see why it is much higher?

The dealers so far include Longo, Park Place, Crown lexus, Putnam etc.

Any ideas why this could be and how to deal with this? I see someone just bought a similar vehilcle below the invoice price (that matches to Edmunds) at Longo. Ihave been talking to the Internet departments at all these places but doesn't seem to help.

"2nd generation 2010 RX"?

I know the so called "2010 RX" has been around since like March/April of 2009. Lexus should have called it 2009 1/2. But since it was designated as the 2010 model year, how can Lexus come up with a "2nd generation 2010 RX" before the year has yet to start? What will be the difference with the now old "1st generation 2010 RX"? This is going to be confusing a few years later for pre-owned market.

I dont think there is 2nd gen RX. There is an increase in price because Lexus just added the "Lexus Enform system" to all RXs. Other than that there is no change in the car.

I just emailed Longo Lexus and was informed that even though I won't license the car in CA. I would still have to pay 10.5% sales tax. Does this sound correct and comments?

No, that does not sound correct. The dealer issues a California non-resident temporary tags. You pay tax in the state where you are licensed and are registering the vehicle.

MSRP of $43,265

got a discount of $3,500 from MSRP and $4,500 becuase of my clunker.

i feel that i could have gotten more discount but, they seemed to be hesitant gving more because i have a clunker. They're giving me all those problems about CFC paperwork, wait to get paid etc excuses.

Freehold Ray Catena deal done by chrisny

I signed the deal today for the truck 2010 RX 350 with Nav, Premium, Comfort package, 12 speaker audio system, Wood Steering wheel and shift gear, wheel locks, all weather mats and the Lexus Enform
MSRP 47,407
Deal made for 43,200 plus taxes and $249 doc fees and $190 in DMV fees for transferring my plates and registration

Did not get a good deal on my trade of 2004 RX 330 with less $45k miles on it, only got $15K for the trade in due to prior rear accident listed on Carfax...so they used the Carfax issue as leverage on their side to not come up on the trade price.

Think I got a good deal on the sale price and settled for my trade value they gave me just because I was ready to make the deal and tired of looking around for a fair trade value.

Good luck to everyone else and hope you all Enjoy your new RX's

Good deal for $800. I figure that SoCal to Oregon shipping is about $600-$800 these days. That would be worth it if the best deal is $1K under MSRP due to lack of competition.

<==== still feel like that after going through test drives and brochures and TMVs and everything for the last month or so. This is NOT fun.

Hi traylor,

I am shopping for 2010 RX 350 and I live in DFW area, too.
Did you go to the Sewell Lexus in Dallas? The price you paid is very good. Did you go through a lot of bargaining to nail the price? Do you mind telling me which sales who you purchased the RX from?

Thanks,
plane1
