Wanted to give a heads up to the Jersey folks. I recently had a HORRIBLE experience with TriCounty Lexus in LittleFalls. My buddy was turning in a leased '07 RX 350. Spoke with TriCounty all week about transaction--confirmed on multiple occasions that they would take the vehicle and I would purchase it at the residual price (which other dealers confirmed could happen--also confirmed this type of deal was possible with Lexus Finance). I would then decide whether or not to CPO the car (for $2,200) or to buy an extended warranty at some point before the mfr's warranty expired. When we went to make deal today, I informed them I'd decided not to CPO the car (you lose a year on warranty because CPO only has 3 years from purchase--extended Lexus Platinum would get me the last year on the mfr's warranty and then 3 more--also vehicle only had 27K miles on it and was treated well by buddy). They immediately started playing games with me and acted as though they were a low end used car lot (their "offer" was to charge me $110 to detail the car, $450 for a "safety check" and oil change plus $795 in commission--without CPO'ing car!). Would not comply with our agreement (sales mgr was conspicuously absent even after her shift had started, hmm...). |

Drove home yesterday a Starfire Pearl 2010 RX350. The experience at Ray Catena Lexus of Monmouth (Oakhurst, NJ) was very pleasant. I dealt with several dealership around me (NYC and Westchester area) and all of them didn't want to negotiate, gave me a price and told me that's their bottom line price. Basically a take it or go somewhere else attitude. Finally decided to drive 2 hours to Ray Catena Lexus of Monmouth (Oakhurst, NJ) and got what I want and a deal that's better than all the quotes I've got. - Starfire Pearl with Parchment Leather - AWD - Comfort, premium, navigation package - wood & leather trimmed steering wheel & shift knob - cargo mat, cargo net, wheel locks - MSRP: $46,825 - Deal: $42,100 - Out the door (include sales taxes, tire tax, title fee, etc.): $45,628 I highly recommend this dealership. The salesperson (CM) I dealt with was very professional and was willing to make a deal on the phone/email. |

Congratulations, great deal. Can't wait to until you take to your local Lexus for service. Of course, they will still service it.

I bought my current 2004 RX there and got a great deal when I purchased this one, waited until end of August and end of stock available which I finds helps out a lot with new models and negotiating definitely going to try my hand at Oakhurst again, went to Catena in Freehold and they would not budge from $44,5 for the vehicle you bought thanks again and good luck to you
