chrisny, I live in Staten Island too. We went to Ray Catena this afternoon. With base and premium package, the dealer only agreed for $39,100. I have not taken the deal.

Purchased RX350 from Lexus of Smithtown last week and the experience was fantastic. The price I know is what everyone wants to know...my RX had the Premium Pkg, Comfort Pkg, Nav, upgraded speakers, remote start and tow hitch and ball installed, MSRP $49,750 Price Paid $44,250. The dealership was friendly and professional. Received 1st class treatment from salesperson to finance person.

I got a 2010 RX 350 with Premium pkg. No Nav. Final price (with $395 dealer tint) was $40,500 Westside Lexus.

Houston's economy hasn't been hit hard like most of the country so I guess demand is still up as well as prices compared to some of the other posts I have read.

Hi Joe.
dont let one dealer ruin your dream of a RX. Your offer was very reasonable. I think there are a couple reasons they did not accept your offer : one, if you do special order, then it is much more work and hassels for the dealer, so they are less likely to sell. My suggestion to you is to be patient and wait a couple more months. I have been told that Lexus is about to have more new RX's with more options. Once these options are available, they will be more willing to negotiate and I think you can get it for less than 50k. Second, i think you have ONE bad lexus dealer. I suggest you go to another dealer and go directly to the Internet Dept. I also want certain options on my RX and I was told they are not making that combination yet (at least not in my region), but they are coming soon. So I am waiting. while Acura TL is a good and reliable car, I think the Lexus drive much smoother.
good luck.

I am from Orange county of CA. and I am looking for a new RX with Nav, comfort, premium, park assist and wood trim. Can anyone tell me which dealer you recommend for this area ? what kind of prices can i expect for this combination? also if someone can tell me what benefits do 19" wheels offer compared to 18" ?? I just dont want to pay extra for 19" wheel and it will cost me more later to replace the tires ... thanks

tyler70, about the 19" wheels, we were thinking about getting that too but later found out at the dealership that the spare tire is a 18". I'm not sure what's going to happen when you have three 19" and one 18" on the car. Even the salesperson couldn't tell us why but we decided to go with the 18" instead. But I'm confident with Lexus that it's going to be okay.

I agree with you with walking away on that deal, you can do better as can be seen on this site by other consumers.

I am going to take a trip out to Oakhurst with my friend this month to see how well they will negotiate if you want to join in for a group deal of 3 truck sales I will be happy to let you know when we plan to go ?
Did you mention Joe's deal when you went ? If so what response did they give you ? I brought sideways3 deal with me to Freehold and they said no way possible and since they could not confirm the deal they would not come close to that number of 41.2K

also you can always wait out until August when they are looking to bring in the 2011 and sitting on these trucks

This is a modification to my original post - I realize now that I should also mention the price I paid included body molding around entire RX, two line pin stripe, all weather mats for cab and cargo area, tinted driver and passenger windows among other things. Lastly, it should be noted I waited over six weeks weeks to take delivery. Apparently even with a bad economy these vehicles are is high demand and you may have to wait. I was spending a lot of money and decided that I wanted the car the way I wanted it and it was worth the wait.

Thank you Tyler, but the salesman actually called me on Saturday to see what I wanted to do. He was surprised when I told him to keep his RX because I've decided to buy an Acura TL. I think I have finally convinced myself the RX is not the car for me so this week I'm going to get the TL. Ray Catena guys in NJ were very helpful but again when you say I want to order the car well no deal just MSRP. This was going to be my first new car and first SUV, but at least I'm still going to get a new car. Happy shopping RX10 customers but this guy is out.

Out of State Sales by claymatt

I am on the verge of wiring funds for a new Lexus to an out of state dealer, when he tries to pull out of the deal we've agreed to. He cites Lexus corporate policy to not sell to clients from other states. He says the reason is that Lexus wants clients to have the "Lexus Experience" and pick up new cars from the dealer, rather than buying and shipping.

If this is true, then the "Lexus Experience" stinks. I can only get the configuration I want from out of state. I can’t believe that Lexus’s focus on customer service would mean that a customer couldn’t get the car he wants. The “Lexus Experience” has got to be better than Ford’s old “you’ll get what you want as long as its black.”

Have you experienced this? Is Lexus corporate forcing their dealers to not serve distant clients? Or maybe my dealer got cold feet?

Thanks.
