In any case, hydrogen as an "additive" cannot improve your mileage because the energy required to separate the hydrogen from water molecules comes from burning ... guess what ... gasoline! Replying to: brilor (May 28, 2006 9:38 am) in reference to the where the mythbuster posts takes you - on one hand, the alternator is always turning anyway, even if it isn't necessarily generating electricity, so why not make it work all the time.   On the other hand, you would need one hell of a large electrolysis machine to generate enough hydrogen to make a difference. and the hydrogen generated would probably be burned to haul all that water around. right?
