Unless you work for the dealer, it is hard to pin down an actual cost. Dealers get incentives from the mfg. that are not figured into the invoice cost. For example, a higher volume dealer will get better choice of colors and special rebates. I figure the dealer has about $1K-$2K in incentives. This is on top any rebates that are advertised on Edmunds. The key is to be able to walk away right now. All dealers are hurting and traffic has slowed regardless of what they are telling you.

Hello All,

Has anyone checked out the Lexus official site. There has been an across the board price drop on the ES 350. It appears that you can now get an Ultra ES 350 for MSRP $39025.00, that's down from around just over MSRP $43000.00 The economy is clearly driving this. Good time to buy if you can!!!. Check it out!!

Do you think $34k drive out for an 08 without nav is an attainable number right now? I want to know if I should hold strong, or is it all just hopeful wishing.

What's the invoice and MSRP of the car you are looking at? If you are not sure, ask them to give you a copy of the spec and check it out on nada.com.

I am still talking to a couple of dealers. There is no way I can get them to come even close to the invoice. They wouldn't even want to talk. My best bet right now is about $1700 over true invoice. The $1500 over invoice I quoted before is with another $515 over the invoice I got from nada.com so really it's $2015 over invoice.

I am trying to have them lower the price a little more and throw in the tint. If I can get it about $900 to $1000 over invoice I will take it.

Have you bought yet Lexus14? What are the numbers you're getting? I'm interested in getting the same exact thing in TX.

We're also debating the 08 if it's a good enough price.

Thanks in advance!!

Where are you looking to buy in TX weniki? That's where I am looking too. I really don't know how to bargain to $1500 under invoice. May be I need some lessons on my negotiating skill...

I think $34k before tax and tags is a good number. That would have everything except nav and premium plus stuff.

I'm sorry beezer, I'm not quite understanding. I was thinking 34k DRIVE OUT, so after tax and tags. Someone earlier had posted that $31,750 would be a good number to ask for a 2008 with no nav, so after tax that should be around 34. Is this too aggressive?

Anywhere??? We're willing to drive! I've called Houston, Austin, SA & Dallas. Where are you looking? Lexus14 got that 09 drive out quote for $36,800. I wonder what their final number was.

I just got quote for 2008 premium plus with chrome wheels for 35,151 in dfw area - is that good deal? It is before ttl and there is a $1k rebate since i financed last vehicle through lexus. so it will basically be $34,151 plus ttl.
