#1104 of 2890 2008 - Ultra-Luxury Package Not Widely Available?
Nov 01, 2007 (2:37 pm)
A previous poster mentioned his local dealer's sales rep told him the Ultra-Luxury package was hard to come by for the 2008 ES 350. I talked to a sales rep in the Carolina's area and was told the same thing.
So, in an attempt to obtain a little more info, I went to Lexus' web site and used their "Build Your Lexus" tool. This tool forces you to plug in a zip code before it will let you go further.
Sure enough...when I plugged in my zip code, the options for the UL packages were not there. I tried a few other zip codes for major cites in the South East with the same result. However, if I plugged in a zip code for some of the major cities in the North East (New York City, for example) the UL options were there.
Does anyone know what's the story on the UL packages? Are they offered only in certain regions of the country...or is it simply a case of they haven't done a complete rollout of the 08's as yet?

Just wanted to post my deal in the Houston area. This is pretty much the most basic model that comes to the Houston area dealers.
The lowest price I could get was 35,000 plus TTL at Clear Lake if purchased before the 1st of the month.
Westside wouldn't go any lower than 36k. Lexus North wouldn't deal with me over the internet. The two dealerships that showed the most interest over the internet were Sterling Mccall and Clear Lake (they are also both owned by the same people).
Very happy with the car.

I had the same problem when I was looking for my 2007 ES350 in Houston. I ended up going to Sewell Lexus in Dallas for the best price. It saved me about 3K. I posted my details much earlier on this board. BTW, when I took my car for service at Sterling McCall w/ the Sewell Lexus license plate frame, my care specialist said, "I see you got your car from Sewell. You must have gotten a good deal." She said she sees many Houston folks who get their Lexus from Dallas for the price.

I also went to the Dallas area (Plano) and got a better deal than I could in the Houston area. I out right told one salesman (I think he was with Northside) what I was going to pay. He told me he could not sell it for that price. The base price I was given was $35,997 + TTL BUT i had already repeatedly told him I wanted the navigation, bluetooth, rear side bags etc...and he was not figuring that into the price. I guess that would have been the surprise when I came into the dealership! Anyway I felt he wasn't paying attention to what I wanted or was just trying to get me into the dealer ship and then SURPRISE me with all the extra add ons.
This was for a 2007.
It is not time yet for my 5000 mile check, but I will be driving to Houston for those.

Just a update, one bay area dealer quoted me $33,404++ for premium and $37,339++ for premium plus.
I am going to get the car today, hoping to get a better price. Wish me luck!

#1110 of 2890 Prices Paid for ES350 in December 2007
Nov 04, 2007 (5:46 am)
December to Remember season is around the corner and wanted to pass on the price I paid for my new 2007 ES350 last year, so it can help people planning to buy 2008 ES350 next month.
I bought my car in it's first year of production and in the first week of the December. I assume, would have done a better deal if I had bought it in the last week of December or waited for 2008 ES350 or both.
The MSRP on the vehicle was $37,087 with premium package, rear seat side bags, heated and ventilated front seats, wood- and leather-trimmed steering wheel and shift knob, blue tooth audio,6-Disc In-Dash CD Auto Changer,full-size spare tire with 17-in alloy wheel and accessory package. I paid $33,400 + TTL and the dealer gave me free window tint, touch up paint, clear floor mats and leather key fob cover. I think the cost of those freebies might have been $400. So, I paid approximately $4,000 less than the MSRP which is 11%. I think you guys can get a better deal than mine but all depends on the region. I live in Phoenix and purchased mine from Lexus of Chandler. The deal was over in 5 minutes as the other 4 dealers where quoting $1,500 - $2500 more. All people who work there are very good to deal with including the service/sales/finance/customer relation managers and I highly recommend this dealer to anyone planning to buy Lexus from the valley.

I am also in the market for a 08 ES. You mentioned in your earlier post that you are getting the quote from Stevens Creek. I test drove from them, but we did not "talk numbers." I believe the $37,339 (permium plus) is with Navi. I am very interested in how your purchase turns out, your overall experience with them. Who did you deal with and how much is the final price.
#1112 of 2890 2008 ES 350, $34,765, St. Louis. Good price???

I just got an offer from a dealer in St. Louis on an 08 ES 350 with Premium Package, rear side airbags, bluetooth, full-sized spare, heated and vent frnt seats, wood and leather steering wheel, preferred accessory package.
#1113 of 2890 2008 ES350 Ultra Package
Nov 05, 2007 (2:19 pm)
Reading some of the entries, above, I am amazed how high "our" Canadian prices for the 2008 ES350 are. For the one with NAV and Ultra-Luxury Package (top of the line, including second sunroof) the MSRP is approximately 55,000 CAD$ + approximately 2,800 Dealer's charge + 14% taxes = approximately 65,000 CAD$, which at today's exchange rate is approximately US$ 70,000 !!! You guys can get the same in States for approximately US42,000, which is .... 40% less !! Lucky you.
Since it makes a lot of sense to buy the ES350 from Sates (NAFTA group), I found out that the US Lexus Dealers have an interdiction to sell to Canadian customers (Dealers may lose their licence!?). Is there anybody that have any idea how I can still buy the car in States? (Probably somebody "local" have to buy it, and then re-sell it to me (more taxes added here)). Thanks.
