Actually I am more anti-Chrysler than I am pro-Honda.

I'm just the opposite, so I guess that averages things out. I'd gladly pedal 34 miles RT to work in the rain and snow before I'd own a Honda, even if it was given to me free.

I actually like Chrysler best of the American brands and Honda best of the Japanese brands. That said, I'd buy a T&C or Caravan over an Odyssey, however, I'd buy an Accord over a Sebring or Avenger. Go figure.
Best Regards,

As Chrysler's #1 shill on here forever you suddenly have an interest in "dumped" Odysseys?
As mentioned previously, I'm itching for a new vehicle and recently driven an 08 Ody EX-L with the back up camera built into the rearview mirror. Since Honda has just recently started heavily discounting their Minivans, they're worth considering if one doesn't need all the bell and whistles and better warranty available on a Chrysler.
Regarding the "claim" that Honda's been discounting Odys since 2005..that is totally BS. One has only to go to the prices paid for Odys to see this just happened this past fall, when Honda tried to claim the "Best selling Minivan" nameplate from Chrysler. Honda failed....but they're continuing to discount heavily.

this whole thing reminds me of something dh did yesterday that made me laugh. We were parking at the bookstore waiting for sunday school to end. Anyway, there are three cars in te lot and he left a space between us and the next car. I said what's up. he said he didn't want to park by that caravan in case we got chrysler cooties. OMG, I had to laugh my posterior off. Totally not like my husband to one, use the word cooties, and two, even think about that. ROFL
I had to remind him that sitting on our driveway was a wonderful 15 year old Dodge Shadow that never gave us a hint of trouble.
I also think maybe the dealership we traded the caravan to might have actually sold that clunker. It will be 10 years this June, but it felt like we'd had it 3 decades. Hope they made all the repairs and that maybe the new owners stand a chance.

You're the one that claimed people were paying "sticker" for Odys early last year. If they did, they're dumber than the average bear.
I never said anything about Honda discounting (i.e. rebates) back in '05 although they did have some special financing (2.9% for 60 months) off and on in '05. They also had dealer marketing (i.e. backdoor rebate) on Odys in '06 and '07 with consumer rebates showing up mid-'07. It is a three year model now so I would expect it do show some age and require some discounting. Particularly in the flat minivan market.

No I didn't, they were paying sticker back in 2005 or above sticker even, last time I looked into a new car. Honda started heavily discounting Odys last fall.....it's unbelievable the discounds on them now!! Well under invoice! They must feel they have competition now to be discounting like that!!

Your post# 7434: Of course Chrysler has to be competitive now that Honda has started dumping their Odys with $3000-$4000 discounts. That can't be good for recent buyers who paid full sticker earlier last year.
What am I missing from that statement?
I paid $300 over invoice for my Ody in April of 2005. It was $31,764 for an EX-L R&N and they gave me kbb "excellent" value for my trade with little negotiation. I normally would never trade, but the offer surprised me a bit (for a full-size V8 suv at that...) and I would have needed another $1,700 from a private party just to break-even on the sales tax savings. I see the invoice on an '08 Ody identical to mine is now nearly $1,600 more than it was in '05. So even when they had $3,500 rebate/marketing support on the '07's, it's not that far off from what I paid.

Funny how this $3K never came up in any of your previous posts since 05? Amazingly, you just remembered this great deal of your's? I'm also glad you didn't experience any of the 5 or 6 recalls and quiet numerous service alerts Honda issued on the 05s!! You are truly blessed.
As usual Dennis your wrong. I posted many times about my deal. Here is one of my posts from 2005. I really wish you had some substance with your propaganda!
As far as the recalls had the relay one done. So Honda is winning 1 recall to 3 for my 2001 Caravan. BTW I am blessed, now that I have my Ody compared to what I drove before.

I do wonder why Honda is now discounting like Dodge - up to $6000 on overpriced Touring models!! and what that says about the worth of Odys? I also get embarrasing offers, just recently from Honda due to my Sam's Club request.....
What was the embarrassing offer?Did they offer you real world trade in value on your Caravan??
