I have a 2007 VC limited and had to bring my car twice to the dealer because a thug sound (like the traction control kicks in and giving a locking feeling) when I downshift around 15mph. I was told then that it was just normal because of the type of engine for this vehicle. Did you have the same experience from the dealer? Is there anyone out there having the same experience....Thanks ////////Ford

All due respect, this isn't an issue with the VC. The seats are working as designed and you elected to purchase a vehicle from the inventory available in July rather than wait until a model with the options you really wanted (power seats) was available or could be located for you.

If this is primarily your wife's vehicle, how does SHE like the seats? That would seem to me to be the question.

You can find a used RX 350/330/300 for about what you paid for your VC GLS new. Shop around more with your next purchase and I'm sure things will work out better.

Kevanriese,
I decided to raise the front of my seat by adding 3 large nuts between the floor and the seat frame. I can't remember the size of the nuts, but I made sure that they were big enough to slide over the bolt without having to worry about the thread pitch.

I could still use another bolt's worth of height, but could not fit it because the mounting bolt would not align with the hole in the floor at the correct angle to engage the threads without stripping.

It's not ideal, but it has kept my sciatic nerve from acting up too much.

Even with the power seat, I still feel the driving position is too high and I am only 5'11". At first I thought the seat was broken because it appears the seat should go down even furthur. I have gotten used to it but at 6'1, you must have a hard time with visability.

Hi, I have one with power seat, but I have the exactly same problem that you have. I am only 5'10 but I was totally unable to find a comfort driving position. I tried all kind of cushion, none of them worked.

Your experience of adjusting the mounting nut is eye opening for me. For me, the problem is the front end of the butt cushion is too high. I could either raise the rear end by putting more nut or lower the front end by removing some.

I am wondering where do you get the intruction on how to do this or you just did intuitively. Any input will be grateful.

Thanks

hoo320,
i just came up with this idea myself. I cannot guarantee that this mod is completely safe, as there may be some impact on the stability of the seat frame if you are in an accident.

On ebay there is a 2008 model with navigation. Looks nice. No CD changer or rear seat dvd player. It does however play DVD movies in park. Comes with the 605w Infinity Logic7 stereo. The rear seat DVD package also comes with it. The navi system has radio info on FM. Of course you get XM. No backup camera and integrated bluetooth. Thats a port installed option. No navtraffic as well. A nice unit none the less.

I just bought a 2008 Limited with the navigation system, and I'm extremely happy with this vehicle.

I have a Cadillac CTS, which is a very good car, but I need more visibility, cargo room, and comfort for my back, so I test drove quite a few CUVs/SUVs in a search for the vehicle which suits my needs..

After weeks of internet and in-person shopping, my decision came down to the Lexus RX350 and the Veracruz.

After comparing both vehicles feature for feature, I chose the Veracruz. It has been in my driveway for two days now, and several neighbors have come over to look at it.

The response is generally along the lines of "That's a Hyundai???"

I took some of them for a drive in it, and they were highly impressed with the quietness, the smooth ride, the features, etc.

Aside from the obvious delight I take in the Veracruz and my neighbors' appreciation of its features, I'm extremely pleased with the dealership.

I live 35 miles from the dealership, and the service manager and salesman drove that distance (and back to the dealership) to help me get my new Veracruz home.

I didn't trade my Cadillac, and I'm a single woman who didn't take a buddy with me to the dealership. Thus, without my asking, the sales manager offered to have the two men help me get across the bay back to my home in Baldwin County, AL.

In addition to getting a good deal on the car, the dealer also filled my gas tank. How's that for service?
