Replying to: oscar_gata (Dec 07, 2007 9:16 am) I've had several opportunities to run my VC through the snow in some pretty severe conditions over the last 2 weeks and it's nothing short of outstanding. My last AWD vehicle was a Honda CRV which I thought was terrible in the snow. In that vehicle you could easily detect when the AWD engaged as the front wheels had to slip before the rear kicked in. In the VC you never notice anything and it just walks right through the snow. The ESC is great too. Very sophisticated system. The wife has Stabilitrak in her Vibe, which is good, but it's nothing compared to the system in the VC. Hyundai really has a winner here. I'm extremely happy with it. 10K miles and no problems to speak of yet.

Even then, my legs and thighs are way out front of the seat.   I called Hyundai consumer affairs and they would not do anything because, as my service advisor said, the seat is operating as designed. I would even pay to have the seat swapped for the power one, but they would not do it.   I am very, very close to trading this in for another non-hyundai vehicle. The difficult thing is that the car is for my wife and she likes it. SHe only wishes I bought her the Lexus RX model, but we do not have the cash. I am 6'1" tall and I have had a touch time with adjusting my front driver seat position. I purchased the VC GLS (cloth manual seats) in July '07. Replying to: randypape (Nov 30, 2007 5:36 pm) I have a 2007 VC limited and had to bring my car twice to the dealer because a thug sound (like the traction control kicks in and giving a locking feeling) when I downshift around 15mph. I was told then that it was just normal because of the type of engine for this vehicle. Did you have the same experience from the dealer? Is there anyone out there having the same experience....Thanks ////////Ford

The seats are working as designed and you elected to purchase a vehicle from the inventory available in July rather than wait until a model with the options you really wanted (power seats) was available or could be located for you.   If this is primarily your wife's vehicle, how does SHE like the seats? That would seem to me to be the question.   You can find a used RX 350/330/300 for about what you paid for your VC GLS new. Shop around more with your next purchase and I'm sure things will work out better.

Replying to: kevanriese (Jan 02, 2008 8:23 am) Kevanriese, I decided to raise the front of my seat by adding 3 large nuts between the floor and the seat frame. I can't remember the size of the nuts, but I made sure that they were big enough to slide over the bolt without having to worry about the thread pitch.   I could still use another bolt's worth of height, but could not fit it because the mounting bolt would not align with the hole in the floor at the correct angle to engage the threads without stripping.   It's not ideal, but it has kept my sciatic nerve from acting up too much. At first I thought the seat was broken because it appears the seat should go down even furthur. I have gotten used to it but at 6'1, you must have a hard time with visability.

I am only 5'10 but I was totally unable to find a comfort driving position. I tried all kind of cushion, none of them worked.   Your experience of adjusting the mounting nut is eye opening for me. For me, the problem is the front end of the butt cushion is too high. I could either raise the rear end by putting more nut or lower the front end by removing some.   I am wondering where do you get the intruction on how to do this or you just did intuitively. Replying to: hoo320 (Jan 29, 2008 7:07 am) hoo320, i just came up with this idea myself. I cannot guarantee that this mod is completely safe, as there may be some impact on the stability of the seat frame if you are in an accident.
