In reply to your post,

This morning as per my original message I dropped off the car and spoke with the service manager that knows the lady who opened my case at Honda Care Line.

I showed him both TSB's for lug bug and motor mount. He did not even keep them. He glanced them over and did not really have much to say.

I will know in the next day or so if they are going to fix anything or not.

Moral of the story. Don't assume knowledge and bringing TSB's are going to get your car fixed. I honestly think they don't like when we bring them, like it makes them look stupid. They don't understand customers don't like to be made felt stupid either.

Update coming shortly!

I guess the reaction to a customer "pointing out a fix" can and will vary greatly depending on the dealer service manager and/or franchise policy. Some, as you pointed out, don't like to be upstaged by a customer ("by God WE will determine if a problem exists or if we will fix it") others don't seem to mind if there is constructive input from a customer that can narrow down a diagnosis and cut repair time. Still others listen politely and blow off anything helpful you might tell them...this seems to be the attitude of your particular dealer. I have not been able to pin down my dealer yet as to which attitude or combination they will take but they simply took my word that I needed the "lug-bug" fix even ordering the kit via a phone conversation about needing it. This makes me feel somewhat better about getting this latest service bulletin applied without too much hassle.

I agree, each dealership has it's own attitude about these things but in my area (Long Island) thus far the attitudes are "the customer knows nothing" and "we don't need your help, that is what we get paid to do.".

I think it's very cool that the place you called ordered the kit via the phone so you can save yourself a trip for diagnosis, etc.

If they do in fact fix it after the kit arrives, maintain a good relationship with them. Throw them an oil change very so often so they always have you in the system as a paying returning customer. It helps. (I myself do my own car work when it's possible/feasible).

Let us know how it goes when you get it fixed.

I await word on what they are going to do or not do for my car (this is with Honda Care's assistance)

He seemed bothered when I gave him the copy of the TSB. I pushed back a bit and finally went for a ride with the service manager. Eventhough he heard it faintly, they will order the kit & I will return next Monday for installation.
Hope it works!

Okay, got a call from Honda today after dropping off the car a few hours earlier.

Without me going into a whole drawn out story (My norm, hahaha)the service manager did admit he slightly heard the drown at 1400 RPM. He is ordering the replacement belt kit.

With regards to the front right hand clunk. They said they did not hear any clunking (funny on the way home, I heard it plenty) but they are also ordering the motor mount replacement. I think they did this since my vin # falls in the range of affected cars.

I have to wait a week or so before parts arrive, etc.

Both motor mount and belt kit solved both problems.

I am much happier now other than the glass problems.

It's kinda of odd not to have the noises after 8000 miles.

I find myself trying to hear them since I am so use to them.

I too had been cursed with the "lug bug" problem. I had one of the first 06 Civic sedans made, actually a Japan built model I bought in October 2005. I saw the TSB info on this site and made an appointment to have it done just before Christmas. As usual, my service dept. tried to blow me off "Cannot replicate noise", but since this was my third time in just for this issue, I stuck to my guns and they agreed to order and install the kit.
I'd have to say it made the problem go away about 90%. I can still hear and feel a slight drone and a lugging feeling every once in a while, but not the loud constant buzz every time my speed hit the magic 40 mph and 1400 rpm. I think the remaining "lug" is simply a side effect of an engine that likes to rev high.

On another note, I took my Civic in for a really annoying rattle in the rear headliner , of course they tried to blow me off by saying "we don't want a mechanic tearing into your headliner" I stuck to my guns and acted a little p*ssed. "that is unacceptable; someone is going to fix this!" and I called for the service manager. He agreed to send it out to a upholstery shop where they found loose clips and wiring, which were fixed and my sanity restored!

The old saying "The squeaky wheel gets the grease" is ever so true when dealing with the your service deptartment!

I agree.

The belt kit was a major improvement and I to can he the remaining slight drone but the noise now is just the normal sound of the engine at the 1400-1500 RPM range while in a higher gear.

I am shocked the dealership sent your car to have the roof liner clips fixed. They are totally capable of fixing that in house as the liner just pulls right down with some gentle prying.

Yep, a nagging customer always gets what they want so the service people can shut them up, hehehehe.
