210delray, I thought about it. As of now, toyota does not have any answer to the hesitation problem. I heard about people who had no problem until 1700 or 5000 miles. What if my car drives fine now and after 3 months gives me trouble? Toyota will do the same treatment with me and won't admit they have any problem.
I know how badly I need a car! I am driving my 1990 toyota corolla that I drove throughout my student life. As I said I will like to buy a camry after toyota comes up with a solution.

Well, you really don't know if it will develop a problem. For that matter, ANY car can develop a problem. I'd just thoroughly check it over and then test drive it.
That's what my son and I did when he recently bought his first car, a Prius. The salesman was very accommodating and understood what we were doing. He was also very thorough in explaining the intricacies of the car (Steven Toyota, Harrisonburg, VA for anyone interested).
I'm not so sure Toyota will give you the same treatment as others on this forum. What's unsaid is I bet some (not all) of the complainers aren't particularly tactful or polite when they talk to the dealer or the Toyota Customer Experience Center.

I believe there are more complaints about transmission shifting with DBW in Toyota makes than 25 on the site. You have to qualify your inquiry properly though. Somewhere, perhaps in the Engine Hesitation Discussion, now marked Read Only had information on this.

Just 800 miles ?!?!?!?!?! Keep us posted about the repair. Also, call Toyota and let us know what Toyota has to say.

11 days in my TCH, just over 1,000 miles, mostly highway, no major issues. I was one of those with a problematic V6 transmission, which was replaced twice, unfortunately. It was a powerhouse and I miss my XLE. However the TCH is a different car altogether and I really like it too. Mileage is great: 42.1 mpg, at 95% highway, 65 to 70 mph.

I have made a claim with Toyota which tuned it over to a claim manager who basically turns it over to the dealership.
The dealership is going to change the valve body which was recommended by A Toyota bulliten. I have not read one post stating that a revised valve body solved all the problems.
TC004-06 3RD - 4TH GEAR SHIFT FLARE (REVISED)
8/7/2006 - 2007 model year ES 350 vehicles.
Some customers may experience a sharp increase in RPM between the 3rd to 4th
gear shift point during the first ten minutes of operation after a cold start. A revised transmission valve body has been developed to address this concern.
NOTE: This TSIB ONLY applies to vehicles that have been confirmed to have the customer concerns listed above
