No, the hatch is 167". The sedan is 181" long (since it's basically a European Cobalt).

Edmunds reports19-21K for Astra? by harrychezt

That car and Driver article said roughy starting 16K. I read 16,500-19K tops...so I am guessing , perhaps, 16K or so , MSRP, to start( why does Edmunds say starting at around 19K? I think it's guessing). If it is 16-19K tops,I will look at the 3 door.

the 1.8i 5-Door starts at 12699 Euros (manual tranny) and ends 15353 Euros (automatic tranny) cost for the auto tranny is ~ 900 euros...

the 3-Door ends up at 14749 E with manual and 15815 with auto...

and considering an Euro is $1.3... the 5-Door should end up $19,973.46 and the 3-Door $20,574.50... so Edmunds in not off I guess...

Naah, you have to subtract the VAT and other taxes from the Opel price first.

According to this site, Autoweek is saying around 16K msrp to start( probably 5 door, since the 3 door is being otuted as a sportier model).
Here's hoping that AW is correct.

I really like the 3-door hatch! I can find a picture of the car with the hatch open. I'd like to see what the cargo area looks like. I checked Vauxhall and Opel and didn't see much.

Interesting that they are going to build them in Belgium. Probably a great thing for the buyer confidence since they have already been building them there.

Noticed the interior by harrychezt

Not happy. No Center armrest for the front passengers( you know, the console/armrest thing most cars have, so you can put your junk in them, then rest your arm on it).

It is being picky, I know, but hey.... I want my armrest, and not some cheap thing hanging on the side of the seat, you fold down.

Seems Suzuki is going this route, too, with their SX4 sedan.

What gives? We going back to 1990, when all small cars were what I call for 2007, decontented on the interiors?

Nice car, but I hope, I really do hope, GM decides to "Americanize" it some, and add a "cheap" center console/armrest.

Got spoiled since 1999, having this "feature" in our Hyundai's and Scion tC.

Kind of nice to have, really.
Holds lots of stuff I have no room for in my glove box, and nice to rest your arm on something wider than a pencil(like the fold down arms, as options on SX4, think a package deal).

take care/not offense.
