Hey, I don't know what to say. I still don't have a new key yet. I've gotten the same quoted price from the dealers here in Winnipeg. I have yet to find someone selling a used key. Seems like Toyota has the market cornered and is content to milk its customers for all it can. I am especially frustrated since I am now expecting my first child and would love to have remote lock/unlock-ing again!
Good luck and keep me informed.

The forums cannot be used to buy or sell items so I'm removing the posts about the armrest. Also, if you want someone to contact you at your email address please set your email to "public" in your profile and refer other users to your profile. Only registered forums users can view your profile info. Nasty spammers are always looking for email addresses in postings on message boads. No need to get unwanted mail.

Got our hatchback less than a week ago, in California, and the alarm/keyless entry was a dealer-installed (and warrantied) option, so it's scheduled to be installed soon. We got the S model with the Power Package, so power windows are already there.
So it IS possible, although I'm not sure if the standard liftback would also qualify. Ask your dealer, he should know.

as a lower cost way of getting a resolution to this problem, why don't you try an alarm shop? The car already has the mechanisms for opening the door locks, you just need a new transmitter/receiver. Generally an alarm setup is a lot less costly and will give you a reduction in your insurance bill, or possibly an installer will sell you a receiver/ transmitter that will just do the locks.

I don't know why the dealer would say that because you can build a Yaris Liftback with Speed Control on Toyota's website - it's a 350 dollar option. I'd try again and point this out - it may cost you more than that though since they'll charge you for parts and labor.

Hi there
Anyone know of a place, besides the dealer who quoted me $1200, where I can get a cargo/luggage cover for the Yaris?
