Recently, I placed an order for a Inferno Red SXT with the CVT2,cruise control and security group. Dealer very helpful in going over the ordering process with me. I hope to get the car 4-6 weeks. Does anyone know how far behind the factory is with orders? |

I ordered an SXT from my son on August 11 from a dealer in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. I have the VON number and will advise when we get a firm delivery date should anyone reading these posts be wondering what the current typical wait times are. The dealer said 6-8 weeks. I'm planning on 12 minimum. So now, we wait... Pricing was very good. After a month of comparison shopping at locations within 1500 miles of Dallas, I was able to order locally for the invoice price as calculated on Edmunds.com and KellyBlueBook.com. If you're considering ordering, you should know that even though two options are listed, you cannot order CJ1 Side Restraint System (side impact torso airbags) or BNB Electronic Stability Control. The latter is not available on a car equipped with CVT (automatic transmission). We wanted both of these safety options but can't get them - which was disappointing given the Caliber got a "poor" score for torso side impact protection from the IIHS last week (all other crash impact ratings are good). Dodge could provide no update on when they will be made available. If you're looking for locations that have a significant amount of Caliber's in stock, the Miami/South Florida and Phoenix area dealers appeared to have the largest number on hand when I was searching. They wouldn't go as low as invoice pricing, but were willing to deal to within $300-$400 of it. A final bit of information - it appears if you get the upgraded audio system with the CD Changer (with our without the cassette deck), you lose the auxilarly jack to plug an iPod in. Perhaps there's another way to connect an iPod to these units (anyone know?). |

I ordered My silver R/T on May 8.The dealer called me on Aug 15 to say it arrived. I have ordered a spoiler,HD floormats, bug shield,Splash guards,Sill guards, and have already installed the vent visors, and cargo mat as well as a third brake light cover that reads CALIBER R/T. I love the unique look of the car. Funny thing happened after we picked up the car.We decided to go out to dinner, just another excuse to drive the new car.Pulled into the Applebees parking lot and there were two other Calibers there already. One green one white.14 weeks I hadn't seen a single one.I have the car three hours and see two at the same time. |

Replying to: renchbnder (May 02, 2006 7:55 pm) Anyway, I contacted Lithia Dodge in Roseburg and talked to the Gen Mgr about finding me an R/T since they didn't have one in stock. He made some calls and found their sister lot in Eugene had 3; all I had to do was pick the color. Marine Blue; no way; Solar Yellow-that's why I have a Rumble Bee-so Silver Metallic is was. My car has the Inferno Red Dash Bezel and the red seat inserts, too. She also has the 6 disc, in dash CD Changer with the 458W Boston Accoustic MusicGate system. After a stressful day at work, there is nothing like sliding open the moonroof and tuning out to Crue all the way home at decibel levels that sometimes threaten to vibrate the rearview mirror off of the windshield. Lithia has always treated me exceptionally well so when they called me and told me to come pick up my little girl, I wasn't worried about figures we had previously discussed changing. They know I don't pay ADM; they know I rarely pay invoice so when I walked out of the dealership with the trade equity out of my '03 Mitsubishi Galant; ZERO $$s out of pocket, lifetime oil changes minus rebate, I financed a hair over $15,100; I'm not about to b**ch! This is the third brand new car I've purchased from this dealer in 10 months! Do I feel Lucky; Yeah I do-God Is definitely smiling on me. |

I'll call another dealer if I'm serious about the Caliber -- need to test drive again tonight and it is this out the larger Outback -- but was curious if anyone has any thoughts. Thanks. |
