Replying to: hondalove (Jul 29, 2006 9:25 pm) I have seen some images floating around the internet, but everything is just done in photoshop. It will be quite a while still before anyone has a real idea of what the car will look like. Honda does a good job in keeping tight-lipped about these things.   As for when North America gets the redesign, I have no idea, but I am guessing it will not be too long after Europe and Japan. Definitely not as long as it took for the 1st generation.

I have a feeling (no proof or evidence) that the new Fit will be introduced in Japan next spring or summer. I don't think the US would get it until the fall. In fact, I am now thinking that the 1st generation Fit may have 2 shorter model years for the US and Canada. Whether it is 6 years old or 10 years old elsewhere, it hasn't even been sold in the US for 4 months yet...it will still be here for at least a short while.   Then of course it is usually wise not to take the first year in a new model, so you might want to wait 1 more year plus how long it takes for the new model. The current Fit is getting a bit dated, but I still think it is an excellent car. It even keeps winning competitions alongside cars that are brand new designs. This model also won the title as most reliable car in the UK (built at the same factory as the US model)...not to mention countless other awards and recognitions around the world.   If I were you, I would get this model. Replying to: hungarian83 (May 01, 2006 12:46 pm) The Chinese Fit model has a few more gimmicks :   1) Fuel mileage counter in L/100km (very unprecise) 2) Power glass sunroof in higher specs models 3) Driver seat height adjustable 4) CVT instead of 5 speed auto box (a big plus imho) 5) closable vanity mirrors for driver and front passenger   That's all that come to my mind right now. I guess power mirrors are standard througout all models   same outside look as European and Japanese version   It comes with black/dark grey dash only. need to get the sedand City version to get beige with wood trim (looks like very upscale)   it is missing the MP3 jack connector and the CD charger though. No speed control either   No side airbag whatsoever. only 2 front airbags.   China models also offer a 1.3L engine with 5spd manual or CVT auto box. cost around 12-13K USD

Hi everyone, I am currently living in the Philippines. I bought a Honda Jazz about a year ago it had the 1.3L engine and was ok in city driving, but there is no way it got the mileage they claimed. I was only getting 10.5km/l in the city and that was with the aircon on low. It was a good car, very solid but I expected far better economy. We didn't have a heater in the car just and A/C and I had hat on low most of the time. You never get any real speed up at a constant level for any length of time so i's real city driving. I did a bit better when on an open road but that was lots of sharp curves and winding roads. The sort of stuff Miata drivers live for. The Jazz was ok and had no real problem even going to "Tops" which is the top of a large mountain in Cebu. When I moved I sold it for close to what I paid for it I think I spent P644,000 and the peso was P56.1 to the dollar back then, sadly now it's P48.5 I think. I did get to drive the 1.5L with the CVT transmission which was ok but I didn't want to wait for 2 months for the Manual transmission. I sold the car about 8 months ago as I was moving to a different island with much worse roads. I now own a Toyota Hi-Lux with a 2.7L diesel and I routinely get 10-12km/L although that's also mostly city driving. If I drive to Manila my economy goes way up. For referce the Hi-Lux which I bought new is a 4 door with a short bed. same economy as the 1.3L Jazz! The Jazz'Fit would get destroyed on the roads up here but I am seeing more and more of the around here. I will be moving back to the US next year and am considering another Jazz/Fit. My wife has been driving her Jazz for a year now, no problems and a great drive - for a car of it's type. It's the 1.3/7-spd CVT. Link below takes you to the Honda UK site so's you can compare with your "Fit".   www.honda.co.uk/

Tried to find a decent, clean and fresh 1.3 iDSi A/T model but tough luck. however, i did manage to find a very fresh 1.5 VTEC M/T Model. I started driving a car with m/t until I got my current car (ECHO) and loved it and kept it all these years. would it be a wise decision to go back to a M/T if I do decide to get it and forego my dream of getting a 1.3 A/T model? will getting the VTEC M/T model prove to be a wiser and much better decision now and in the long run?   hope to hear from you asap as I need to decide immediately on whether i should close the deal and get the aspirated 1.5L VTEC M/T model or continue looking for a 1.3 iDSi A/T model?   thanks.
