stuff rolls around pretty good back there. I have my metal (tall) tennis ball hopper anchored to two of them with little bungi cords. Works great to keep it standing and off to the side leaving plenty of room for the racquets and gym bad. Also have two bag chairs in there and there's still room for more. I love the cargo area. Thought I couldn't do without my '95 Accord Wagon, but we're managing pretty well. I never put a bike in my wagon, though, so can't help you there.

I keep the passenger front seat reclined all the way back so that my 3 year old can sit on that side with her legs on the back of the front seat, doesn't cut off her circulation, gives me a good view of her and she doesn't drop things on the floor.
had to stop for a rest the other day and i lay on that front seat very comfortably i'm 5'8"
i love my fit

You do realize that there is a hitch available that you stick a bike rack on, right? According to the web site, it'd be pretty easy to install, too.

How To Turn Off Cargo Bay Lamp?

Evey now and then, I need to leave the hatch open for hours at a time. I'm concerned that the cargo bay lamp cannot be shut off as far as I can tell - it might deplete the battery after 8 hours. In the meantime,I have popped it out and disconnected it, but does anyone have a better solution?

1) Find out what the bulb used is.
2) Check online for a LED version of that bulb- should be less than $10.
3) Get & install same.
4) Very low draw + long life means you never have to worry about it again.

Space under the 2nd row

Today I was in the backseat of the Fit with my 2yr old daughter watching a DVD on a portable player while waiting for my wife who was in the doctor's office when I notice the amount of space UNDER the 2nd row. The 2nd row is up on legs that fold forward when the seat folds flat, but when the 2nd row is up, there is a lot of space for all sort of things, especially when you have kids.

Well, that space is obvious since you need to fold the legs in tall mode anyway...
Not terribly effective IMO, since the bars get in the way, and it prevents you from folding it flat later.

It's more effective the amount of space under the 2nd row of just about any other small car I know, which is zero. Hmmm....zero space under the 2nd row seats or some. I'll take the some. And I'd rather have the stuff UNDER the seats than under my feet!

The other day, before we got the optional cargo cover, my wife and I had to park our Fit at a park-and-ride lot of a train station, and as we were about to do so, we realized that we had a total of four attaches/bags that we did not want to take with us on the train. Because of the lack of the cargo cover at that time, we wondered how to hide our things. Turned out that we could stuff everything under the rear bench, even with the bars, which was rather nifty.
