It really depends on how far the front is moved back/forward. But, in general, he has a comfortable amount of space (not much extra, like in the xB, but not cramped at all). The Fit's back seats also recline a bit, which adds slightly to leg room when reclined (as any teenage boy, he's always slouching, with his legs sticking out). The xB back seats were very vertical and did not recline.

My 4 yo daughter in her car seat, legs sticking straight out, has just enough room sitting behind me (as driver), but I'm only 5'8" with 30" inseam. No one feels squeezed in the Fit, but the xB does have more leg room in the front and back, more than the Chevy Suburban, in fact. The Fit feels better to my son than the 2003 Accord we had.

Congrats on ur new Fit. Was Vivid Blue ur lst choice? We picked up our VB Sport AT last Thurs in Central FL. Our first choice was Tiff White, but when we saw the VB in person, we were blown away.

First fill-up tonight (Sat) - 25 MPG - ok, but not sure if we started with "full" tank. Still nice to fill up for $13.25, when all around us, vans and suvs were filling up for $40 to $60. Enjoy - TrickyDick

We just completed 125 miles in our Sport AT VB Fit. All in all, beyond our expectations. Easy to enter/egress, great handler, fun-to-drive, flexible hauler - takes up only a little more room than my golf cart which it now shares the garage. Think of how we could tell OPEC to take a hike if we could just sell (US) a half mil of Fit like vehicles per year!

The Fit is now our only internally combusted vehicle (our 2nd car is a golf cart). I hope you will be as delighted with your Fit as we are with ours. Our gripes are miniscule - 1) A/C is weak for FL. 2) Radio data panel needs shading (like the speedo etc.) - fades out in daylight - 3) Needs a "dead pedal" (somewhere to rest your left foot). 4) Lighting could us a little upgrade - how about a maplight? - (something along the lines of the Odyssey), plus a 2nd cargo lamp on passenger side. My cograts to Honda- this is a car for the times. TrickyDick

OK, I know this is off-topic...I'm about your size, but I can probably safely say my son (who's 15) ain't ever going to be 6' tall! What do you feed him??!

Depends on where it is built. I have had two friends that have owned Mexican built VWs (Golfs and Jettas are built in Mexico with Argentine transmissions).
Your entire post seems to have nothing relevant to a Fit test drive.

Golfs are not built in Mexico. They have not been built in Mexico since the A3. That is pre 1999 models for those who may not know.

Generalizing about reliability and spreading dis-information destroys credibility.

Test drove the FIT today. Overall, I was impressed with the interior space, and handling. It rode nice, very good headroom space in front and in rear, and I am 6'3". Comfortable seats. I test drove the 5 speed manual. It shifted very nicely, and the ride was fairly quiet. A little winding/revving noise between shifting was expected for such a small engine, but wasn't bad. Good pick up and acceleration for such a small engine. Took bumps on the road very good. Didn't get to take it on the highway, perhaps next time. My wife thought the seats were a tad uncomfortable. No center armrest (salesman checked, and it's not even offered as an accessory on any of the models). I almost MUST have a center armrest. Salesman said right now you would have to find an aftermarket armrest. I am not hot about that idea, so I will wait and see. He said that Honda may offer this as an optional accessory in the near future, but he wasn't sure. No cruise control option available without opting for the sport package, however the salesman said it may be possible for the dealership to install this on the base model. He never did quote me a price for this though, and I forgot to ask him again about it. I would like to test drive the sport automatic, just to see how it feels in comparison. I will wait to compare against the Versa when it comes out next month. Really anxious to test drive the Versa.

Thinking real hard on a new Fit, but since no armrest, no height adjustment, even though you have plenty of head room in which a height adjustment would be beneficial, and is a biggie for me, I'm just going to wait and see if Honda gives us those soon or next year with the new model. Of course the new xa and corolla will be out along with the Versa, so hurry up Honda. They should have done these two things at least at the get go.

Keep in mind they downgraded the combined fuel mileage ratings on the Versa to 33 mpg from 38 mpg.
