SUV stands for Sport Utility Vehicle and for a vehicle to fall under that category doesn't require any of the items you mentioned, its just an acronism. Before owning the XL7, I owned a 1997 Ford Explorer RWD and although it was an SUV, it lacked all the items you stated. Click on the link for a brief explanation of Suzuki's AWD system. The drivetrain computer takes care of what most of the parts you describe by braking an individual wheel allowing the wheel with the most traction to have the power like a limited slip diferential.

I have an 07 XL7 and so far everything is perfect. this vehicle for snow is the best one we have ever owned. This past winter on a really bad storm here I tryed to drive this car out of control on purpose but the the AWD system keep it strait and in control all the time. I like the way the system also works for the rain.

Cars are just that, cars and sometime they have bad flaws in them. Until today I have not been able to find the PERFECT ONE. I owned in the past 3 Chevy, 4 Ford including an F-150, Expedition, F-250, 2 Dodge including a Durango, one Nissan, one Eclipse and so on where the mayority of them are 4x4 and until today all are CRAP. Beautiful technology but bad quality, today is the AC and tomorrow is the Trans.
If some one really wants to find a good car then roll the time back 20 or 30 years and you will find it.

cargo cover and map light rattle by dawnle

I just recently purchased a new 2007 XL7. I noticed the map lights rattle. I did take it in to the dealership and they supposedly put a new unit on and it still rattles. It is just the plastic covers. I have a sunroof so it is not the normal with the sunglass holder, etc. The rattle does get a little annoying at times. I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem, and if so, was a solution found.

Also, I have been trying to find a cargo cover for the back area. It is a 7 pssgr SUV, but I only have that because it came as such. Only the 5 pssgr comes with a cargo cover. I have been trying to get one, but cannot find any. Suzuki does not even show it as an accessory. Anyone have ideas on where to find one?

Hi,
I scratched my XL7 and I need touch paint code ZV7. I called two dealers and I was told that Suzuki discontinued the paint. How do I get it?
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks

Hope this helps, some sites that I included here are for Bikes and Car Dealers, but sometimes the paint used is the same by manufacturer/codes. Sometimes a phone call to them will go far.

Good Luck !

Sometimes you can get someone with a paint booth to make up a small quantity of auto paint for you using their paint computer gizmo. A friend of mine used to own a truck canopy business and he could make up an ounce or less of paint without much trouble. He had most of the color codes for trucks since he painted canopies to match; I assume you could plug in the Suzuki color code too and match car or SUV paint.
