Thanks to this forum's info about Fitzmall.com, I checked their website for prices on FJ Cruisers and found they were selling for $400-$500 over invoice. I purchased mine for the exact published price with a few easy emails and phone calls. I live in Alaska, so it was important to me that the purchase went smoothly when I flew into PA. The purchase was even better than I had hoped. I was picked up at the Harrisburg, PA, airport by a great sales guy and was in and out of the dealership within an hour. The savings over buying from my local Toyota dealership more than made up for the cost of my trip to pick up the car and drive it 3,300 miles home. The trip was a vacation for me. Fitzgerald Auto Mall is a first-class group of dealerships. There's lots of information on their website about their pricing & it's well worth reading. I'd be happy to discuss further details of my FJ purchase and how I like the vehicle (love it!!) if anyone would like to message me.

I try to keep this short. 4 whl automatic; convenience pkg (cruise, sonar etc); upgrade #2; running boards; Tow pak (roof rack, hitch); Side air bags; pass arm rest; Also stuff I didn't want: enhanced alarm, proximity sensor and an Accessory pk with rear door storage, first aid kit, mats. Retail 31,688 + tax and title; Dealers response to request for "deal" was to knock $2K off retail. Don’t know if I can go deeper. Thoughts? Decent deal or am I likely to get $2K off anywhere? (Carmax only discounted $1K on some models and up to $2K on others) Roll

Replying to: rollbar (Dec 05, 2006 6:46 am) Last offer on a FJ with a list of 31,688 (CQ, GY, RB, UR, C7, V5 (don't want this but it's already installed), Z1 (just really want the arm rest and mats but this is another package with some worthless stuff thrown in). Offer 29,060 or 31,400 out the door. (6.5% tax) That’s 2,628 off list by my reckoning. I argued 26,600 invoice (Edmunds) but he insisted it was closer to 28,000. Advice welcome and solicited regarding value with this deal, (purchase). Thanks in advance, Roll

Replying to: canman1971 (Dec 06, 2006 7:23 am) I tried www.truedelta and came up with an invoice based on their data of 27,200 but some of the options (that I don't want) do not show up on the their list. I estimate the invoice to be in the area of 27,500 on that basis so my dealers offer would be about 1,560 over. Actually better than I thought but my “Purchase Manager” (wife unit) is still in disapproving mode. She wants 31000 out the door which would give the dealer about 1200 over invoice. They should do that. My Purchase Manager points out we are in no hurry and can wait until after the new year for a vehicle equipped the way we want, (basically without some of the junk included in two of the packages). We'll see.....my Purchase Manager vs. their Sales Manager; Almost like the Ohio State/Michigan game. lol Roll
