Well, let me tell you. Whoever said Toyota guys are shady when it come to these FJs, they are correct. I went to Ira Toyota in Danvers, Ma today to look at one advertised in the low 20's. I knew it was going to be more, but they had many in stock, so I took a Sunday drive. The orginal sales guy was pretty cool. Very up front about everything. I played the negotiating game for a bit and got them to agree on 4WD Manual with CQ package with a few other diddys. It's MSRP was 27500. They agreed to do it AT invoice, which was around 24000. Well, it didn't have a roof rack and I really wanted one. They tried to lowball me for my trade offering $5000, which is half of what it is worth. So, I figured I'd try for as much as I can get so I asked for a roof rack and if not, I'd buy one. This is when it went sour. They manager came back with a completely different attitude and basically told me to ***** off! When I told them I still wanted the car, he told me no dice. He was quite rude telling me I had the nerve to ask for a roof rack after getting it at invoice. I knew I wouldn't get it, but why not ask? Well I left, pretty po'd, and headed to Bill Dube Toyota in Dover, NH. A buddy of mine knows them there and said they are good people, but the only one they had was a fully loaded auto. The MSRP was around 32000 and the sales guy brought me right to the manager and we negotiated right there. He first said $500 over invoice, but being loaded, I still felt it was out of my price range. So, he tacked on an additioal $500 for my trade bring it to 10000 and offered it at invoice, which with all the options, was 27500. I felt it was too good of a deal to pass up so I agreed. It took less than 5 minutes. My wife thinks its a bit unpractical, which it is a bit, but I love it. My experience at Bill Dube was great and they let me take it without all the paperwork out of the way. They are meeting me tomorrow at my work to finish it off.

Hi. Does anyone here have any tips or advice on getting a good deal on the FJ Cruiser in Houston, Texas? What prices did you pay? Thank you in advance.

Here in Seattle, MSRP minus $100 is what I've been quoted. Selection is decent if you are willing to wait a bit. Most of them have more options than what I'm looking for, but that is not a surprise.

Is MSRP good, or?

Feedback appreciated...

Something doesn't add up here. The MSRP on an FJ with an invoice of 27500 is 30500 give or take 200 dollars, depending on the options. I find it hard to believe Dube can get away with an invoice deal on a loaded model when Boch and Ira (not to mention fitzmall and carmax) can't come even close to that.

The best I've seen for an FJ with an MSRP of $31,300 is $28,400. That's the highest MSRP I've seen out there.

Someone is pulling your leg at Dube.

That is where you are wrong. My friend does a bunch of work for them, so that is why I got the deal, I'm guessing. I didn't even have to haggle with the salesman. I added up the options myself. Also, it's not fully loaded, but there isn't much missing. Only running boards and the XM radio from what I can tell. That is also why I said around 32, I thinkt the price was probably closer to 31, but definately over 31.

I live in New York and have been looking everywhere for a 4x2 FJ cruiser . Every dealer I went to told me that toyota does not ship 4x2 trucks to the northeast . I guess they think New York gets alot of snow . I know what you are thinking that a 4x4 would be better well the 4x2 have traction control and if the snow is that bad I won't be coming outside anyway. Here is the deal I found a dealer in Augusta, SC who has one black with the conv package and upgrade package# 2 , roof rack and running boards . I got for 26, 400. does that sound like a good deal? has anyone found a better price ?

Where am I wrong? You can't even give an exact MSRP or list of options for a car you supposedly just purchased. That sounds fishy to me. This info is posted in huge numbers right on the window.

Feel free to break down the base price, options and final cost, or post a copy of the P&S here or some sort of invoice for the purchase. Then we can see what you really got for what price. Even the salespeople and other dealership employees themselves cannot get a $31-32K FJ for $27,500 in New England. They just can't. I'm not guessing here.

Thanks to those of you who highlighted Fitzmall.com - I called around a bunch of metro NY dealers who all wanted sticker or to have me come in to do the dance, which I couldn't be bothered with. So I found the color/options I wanted at Fitz for $2500 under sticker, put down a deposit, drove the 220 miles down to Chambersburg PA the next day, paid my money, and drove back again in my new Black Cherry FJ. The guys I dealt with were helpful and straight, had me picked up from the local airport with rental car concessions and got me on my way quickly.

Here is the breakdown from thier invoice. The MSRP is 30804. Sorry I was off by a few hundred dollars. These are the package codes it has, FE, CQ, GY, UR, Z2, C7. That is 30199 plus the 650 destination charge. What I paid is 27600.
Hope this clears up things a bit. I'm not here to argue. I feel I got a great deal paying invoice. Now, if you have any questions about the breakdown of packages, I'll post them, but I didn't feel like writing all that. I'm guessing the accessory codes should be enough.

Base model 23500
Total accessories 6699.
Total 30199+650=30804

Hey, expanding one's search without getting from one's desk is always a good idea! Just increasing the number of alternatives will allow folks to learn a few things about the price dispersion for a product. ENJOY the new ride!
