I am so glad you enjoy your yaris as much as I do. I bought the four door sedan for my daughter. She does not get her license until December so I am driving it until she does. It is wonderful, fun and just down right cute. I have noticed all the new cars that are in the same price range, but nothing even close to the style of the yaris. My grandmother is in a wheel chair so I went with the four door so we could put her wheel chair in the trunk, well my uncle bought a honda civic and he picks up my grandmother on the weekends and she told me that my (my daughters) car has more head room and she don't have to bend her head down while riding in it like she does the honda civic. I was so thrilled because not only was the civic more expensive but it had less head room. I also have a toyota avalon and I love it also, so I wanted a toyota brand car because I felt it would be dependable for my daughter. I love the yaris, it is so roomy and I love the front end design, very sharp looking. The very first day I bought it we were on our way to charleston for a meeting and I had so many people on interstate looking at it. I bought one in black and I am buying my daughter some graphics for it. OH, I also wanted to ask if anyone knows when there will be a radio installation and wiring harness coming out for it. I have went to best buy three times and they say that there is still not a kit for it. I was told not to buy one off ebay because it might not be the right one. I bought the yaris with out a radio but I had the dealer put one in but my daughter carries her Ipod everywhere and she needs a radio that she can use her ipod in. I was not going to pay $1500.00 for the toyota brand radio. If anyone knows please let me know.

Hi -

Curious if it's possible to just custom order my Yaris. I want a stripped down yaris with nothing more than the convenience package, but I also want ABS.

Can I get ABS w/o getting the power package?

About the radio installation kit.
Best Buy here (Bend OR) put a radio in my 4d with no problems. They took kit for Echo, or maybe Scion, and had to do a little modification, but no problem. Anyway, $125 for radio installed beats the dealers price.

Experience was not that great. The local dealership only had 2 Yaris on the lot. Both starting at $14,600...automatic, and just more stuff than I needed. After explaining to our sales rep's boss what we were looking for (manual tranny, no frills) he tried to talk me into buying a Corolla.
After threatening to go elsewhere he explained that the other Toyota dealer in the area didn't have a manual Yaris either. When I said threatening to go elsewhere, I was thinking places upwards of 100 miles away.
After we both got on the same page, he told me he could order a manual tranny Yaris, with Convience pack for right around 13,300.
I had the car the next morning and love it to death. My intentions were to just use this as a temporary car until I was able to pay it off, and then upgrade from there. After driving it now for a week...I might just hold onto it as long as I can.

Love my Yaris but.... by flyguy6

Hi all

I got a blue 4 door hatch (Canadian car). Love it, but one thing I've noticed is that the idle isn't steady. It settles to about 600 rpm or something, then it slowly dips, until the idle becomes a little rough, then it jumps up to about 800 rpm for a bit, then settles down and the whole thing starts up again.

Has anyone else had this issue?

thanks

Hi,
Since this discussion is about pricing, you might find more help in one of our other discussions in the Toyota Yaris group.

I am close to buying a new Yaris. Today I went for my first test drive here in Portland. I went to Ron Tonkin Toyota on 122nd.

After a test drive, the sales guy asks me if I want to come in and talk about figures. I said I would like to know how long/difficult it would be to get exactly what I am looking for. Next thing I know the sales manager is singing this tune about how entry-level cars have no mark-up. He thrusts a piece of paper my way and says "So, if everything is okay with you, just sign here." I look at the paper and it's a contract for 60 months $300 a month. That's $18,000 for a MSRP of $14,000. I hadn't even told the guy exactly what I wanted and now he wants me to sign a contract?
The sales guy was cool, but the sales manager was seriously mistaken to try that shyte with me. No way I would go back to a place like that.

Friend of mine is interested in Yaris hatchback (5 sp, no power options). Anyone got a good deal on this model in Boston? I have been reading this forum that production number is low for hatchback.
