Been calling and driving all over town this week looking at cars and haggling with dealers. Was originally looking at the Hyundai Tucson, but liked the size and options on the Santa Fe better. Compared it to the CRV, Rav4, Kia Sportage, and Subaru Forester. Liked the Santa Fe best of all. Salesman at Dave Menegay Hyundai in Rainbow City, Alabama (about an hour outside our home of Birmingham) really worked hard and got us what I think is a great deal. We wanted a black GLS, grey interior, with the Premium Package, to get the heated seats, sunroof, and steering wheel audio controls. Ended up with a vehicle with that package, as well as the bluetooth hookup and the silly first aid kit. Edmunds TMV on a Santa Fe with this configuration is $24,840. Dealer beat the TMV price by $200. Here's the breakdown: Sale price: $24,604.06 Doc fee: $389.00 Sales tax: $687.31 Title fee: $16.50 ------------------ Price before rebate: $25,696.87 After $2000 Hyundai rebate: $23,696.87 I wanted to get out the door under $24K, so I'm pretty pleased with this. Other, more conveniently-located dealers here in Birmingham couldn't get me below $24,500 out the door for a black Santa Fe. The 2-hour round trip drive to Rainbow City saved us about $800, and I think that's a pretty good tradeoff. Questions? Ask away, especially if you're local to Birmingham. |

Got a price quote from a neighboring dealer and went to the dealer closest to my house. They offered me this Sante Fe SE AWD MSRP 28,100 25,000 sale price Includes mud guards, blue tooth, cargo tray, cargo net, wheel lock NY Tax 8.875 DMV around 190 Doc Fee 45 Minus 2,000 incentive OTD price 25,466 Is this a fair deal?? Looked on edmunds and seems good. Also got in white . |

Anyone out there with the scoop on the September incentives on the '09's? Cash for Clunkers hasn't wiped them all out by a long shot. There were dozens of '09 Sante Fe's on 2 of the 3 lots I went to (3rd dealer was very small budget operation attached to the Ford place and deserted). The Sales Mgr I talked to said he was ordering "every one he could get" to avoid "missing out like we did when we ran out of Elantra's during Cash for Clunkers"... This tells me there's going to be some decent incentives to come this month on the '09's. Who's got info out there? Thanks! |
