Get it professionally appraised. You'll just get lots of contradictory data online because we can't see the vehicle or know all the details RE equipment, accuracy, etc. At a local car show you might very well run into an appraiser or a club/group that likes these cars; also you can scan www.hemmings.com. Once you have a good appraisal, then family members won't bicker and Uncle Fred won't be telling you years from now that you "sold 'er too cheap" and he saw one for sale for $100,000 dollars.

Sounds like a neat truck. If it's done all military-like, then your market is people who collect military vehicles, not off-road types.

Thank you so much! I will look into getting it appraised.
Also, do you think Ebay would be a good way to sell the truck? Or do you have a better idea?
Thank you very much!!!!

Well I think eBay is a big PITA. Yeah, you sometimes get very high retail bids, and you also get lots of deadbeats, scammers, etc. I think a detailed and sober print ad in Hemmings Motor News is your ticket. That's where the serious buyers look for cars.

You could also run it through a professional auction company like Kruse International, if they have a show near you. But you need to scan the list of cars they are selling, to make sure yours fits into the "mix" at that particular auction. You don't want to be in there with all foreign stuff for instance, and you don't want to go to an auction with the gold chain & merlot crowd.

Haha! "gold chain & Merlot..." funny!
Ok! Thanks for the great advice! It's all very helpful!
I'm so glad that I found this forum.
I will get it appraised and sell it through one of the places you mentioned.
Thanks again! God bless you!!

I'm planning on going to the Spring Carlisle show this weekend. We're finally going to get a break in the weather this weekend with temperatures in the low 60s. Last year's event was pretty soggy.

Cool, so you'll be able to make it then, Lemko? I hope the weather does hold out this year. I didn't make it last year, but I remember it being incredibly rainy that weekend. Now that I think about it, back in 2005 it rained that weekend, too. And I think one other year, either '03 or '04 it was rainy. At least, I remember one of those shows, wearing a jacket that I thought was waterproof, and learning pretty quickly that it wasn't!

I didn't know if you got my email as it was about a month ago. I guess we'll be meeting at the same place and time?

yeah, I got your email...I thought I had responded back to it. Sorry 'bout that. But yeah, same place/time, around 10 am. I tried shooting you an email last night too, but my internet at home is acting up, so I dunno if it went through.
