Just had the same problem with mine. They are now replacing the entire engine. They said the cause was the two cam phasers and there was also a bent rod.

I just joined the forum and was wondering if anybody had this problem. I can hear a rattleing noise coming from under the truck going down the road from 35 mph to about 55mph. If I let off the gas the rattle will stop and then it returns when you excellerate again. I then tryed doing the samething while in 4HI and it took about 50 to 75 yrds before it engaged. At the sametime it shiftes into 4HI it (trasfercase) sounds like it just pops into gear hard. Has anybody ever had this problem? Thanks for any help. |

| My issue just turned out to be a missfire on the 4and 8 cylinder changed the plugs and coils and voila..... | |

I have a 2004 F-140 Lariet 4x4 with about 16,000 miles. When I first start out, I experience a vibration until I get up a little speed. On occassion, I also feel this when starting from a stop sign. Is this normal? Any ideas what could be the cause, and if I need to have it looked at? Thanks. |
