I got a quote on a 2009 Sport FWD (no packages) of $18489. The sticker is $24570 with destination. Is that as good as it's going to get? I'm pushing for a little more off. We'll see!

$6k sounds pretty darned good to me. However, the revised 2010's (with the non-turbo 2.5 4-banger) will be out in April/May, according to a rep I talked to at the StL car show recently. I wonder if deals on 2009's will get even better as the 2010's start to hit showrooms?

Thanks for the reply. I just can't wait that long. Daughter totaled her Altima. I thought it was a pretty good price too. I'll get the CX-7 and she gets my 2003 mazda 6. I hate to give it up!!

as another pricepoint comparison, back in mid-Sept 08, we bought a new 08 for $7K off MSRP, or $17.5K. 09's had just started showing up on the lots. we did not have to haggle for this offer, as they had taken out a 1/2 page newspaper ad promoting the $7K off "all remining 08's". was in-and-out in less than an hour....

at the time, a few folks on the board speculated as to how / why they would make such a low offer. one talked about how dealers get a chance to 'buy' from the mfr at cost less incentives and can then remove from the floorplan.

i guess i ramble about all this for a couple reasons...
1) i have not seen too many others picking up new CX-7's for $7K off MSRP, making your $6K off offer sound attractive.
2) while it never hurts to try & get them lower, it would not surprise me if they're already there.
3) of course, w/ the current environment, who knows what type of mfr incentives are currently being offered just to move any vehicle!

Thanks for that information. I'm sure that come Sept 09, the 2009's will be reduced even more. But like you said, 6k off sounds pretty good right now. He doesn't seem to want to budge off that price. I'm at $20350 out the door with my wonderful 8.75% tax rate. Tried to get him to $20k even but no luck. Not sure if I can push him any lower. He says that's the bottom. I just have to decide if I want it.

Does anyone know if the 2009's are any more reliable then the 2007's? I was reading some reviews with a lot of complaints on reliability. Wonder if it was just the first model year bugs.

Thanks again!

This is the same price point I got on an identical trim '08 back in September. What this means is Mazda is kicking in the same $3750 on the '09s now that they gave on the '08s back then. This makes sense since CX-7 numbers are down some 60+%.

On reliability, there were some '07 glitches with the gas cap and tranny, but they were resolved. My '08 has 5 months and 3300 miles so far, and has been perfect.

I have just bought a 2009 CX-7 Grand Touring FWD with no additional options for $21,588 (includes destination charge) with an out of the door price of 23,175.

I actually used the Edmunds "contact local dealers" link and one dealer gave me this price for a car he had on the lot. I was able to use this to negotiate for the one I wanted. I was told there was at least a 4k manufacturer to dealer rebate.

I tried to go lower but they would not but did throw in wheel locks, cargo net and rear bumper guard.

I am looking at a leftover, new '08 Touring. I have an offer of $10,000 off MSRP. Is that good enough?
