CX-7 questions by jeffer3

I purchased a new '06 Outback about 7 months ago. I did to a lot of research but now I am finding that I have a lot of trouble getting comfortable. Specifically no place to comfortably rest my left foot. It's really gotten to be such an annoyance that I am now looking to trade it in for something more comfortable. I sat in a CX-7 the other day and found ample room for me - and my feet. One thing I did notice was a lack of other amenities - such as the ever popular cup holders and other storage spaces, ie coin holder. I was in the base model though so can anyone tell me if the upper-scale models do better in this area.

There are bottle holders in each front door pocket. Two cup holders in center console behind shifter, as well as two rear cup holders in rear center fold down armrest. Coin holder is inside cemter armrest console and is lockable.

thanks for the info zoom49. i stopped at the dealers this afternoon and was going to go for a test drive but it was a little too late so I just browsed around the parking lot looking at the different vehicles and their stickers.. one thing I noticed there was not one with roof rails. i got the impression they don't make 'em. that's too bad because I kayak and bike and a good roof system is essential. those crossbar only systems like the toe-rag has are not as desirable as a full rail and crossbar system. In the cx-7 any roof system seems like a complete add-on which I'm trying to avoid.

They offer several add on factory roof systems, but I believe they are only cross bar type. There are sockets in the rails for attaching a rack. Maybe the aftermarket will step up to the plate.

Go to the Mazda website and download their .pdf file for CX7 accessories: http://www.mazdausa.com/MusaWeb/downloadBrochure.action?url=%2Fpdf%2Fbrochures%2- F2007_cx7_brochure_acc.pdf

Mazda has been having great sales since 2002, very few that are profitable Mazda is one of them, and MOA stated they exceeded their goal for CX-7 sales for August! Wait a few weeks and you won't find this car on the ground..just wait and see..it will be like the 3.

SWEET!... and congrats. I find myself wanting to drive my CX-7 at night just because of those HIDs and the dash lighting. Good luck with your new baby, and let us all know how things go for you.

STILL MISS MY 6 by 2ndmazda

GREAT CAR BUT IT SHOULD BE FOR THE EXTRA $300/MO I'M NOW PAYING. HAD THE CX FOR 2 WEEKS. I FOUND THIS BLOG LAST NIGHT AND READ ABOUT THE A/C PROBLEMS. SO WHAT HAPPENS TODAY? MY A/C WENT KAPUT. AND THERES EVEN SOME HOT AIR COMING OUT OF THE VENT WITH FAN OFF. THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I'VE HAD A PROBLEM WITH A NEW CAR. OVERALL IMPRESSIONS SO FAR IS I DON'T HAVE THE CONFIDENCE RIGHT NOW ON RELIABILITY. THE CAR SEEMS A LITTLE DAINTY. THE MAZDA 6 WAS A WAR HORSE FOR 3.5 YRS AND 100K MILES. THE CX IS ONE HECK OF A RIDE AND HAS A GREAT SOUND SYSTEM. I HOPE IT HOLDS UP. A RADIOTOR PIPE DID SPRING A LEEK ON THE 6 AND THAT WAS THE ONLY PROBLEM. THE MECHANIC AT THE DEALERSHIP SAID IT WAS OK TO USE LESS THAN PREMIUM GAS ON THE CX. I ALSO LIKE THE LITTLE PORT WINDOWS. THE LEXUS SUV DOESN'T HAVE THEM.

Wow, your A/C problems are nothing compared to the trouble you're having with your Caps Lock key...

About the regular gas, you need to show the dealer mechanic your owner's manual: He's wrong. Regular gas will kill your mileage, sap your power, and it ain't good for your engine over the long haul. Good luck with your A/C; hope it gets fixed for good.
