Excellent H/W mileage!! I drove from Yorktown VA to Park Ridge NJ to Hardford CT and then back to Yorktown VA. The Vue averaged 33.2 MPG. I started the trip with less than 1K miles on the vehicle. My driving since has been mostly city driving and short trips 5 miles to work etc. My Vue averages 20.2 mpg around town.

We traded an '03 V6 4wd Tracker for an '07 fwd L4 Vue a month ago. Went with the Vue because of its dingy towing capability. Have been very pleasantly surprised with both mileage and performance. EPA sez 26/32. We got 31 at 70 mph against brisk head wind going from Indianapolis to Toledo. Got 33 coming back. Typical urban driving gets me mid-20s so far. The OHC L4 cruises quietly at 2500 rpm at 70 mph. The Tracker wound up to 3500 at that speed. Only issue I've got at the moment is notchy steering. Most noticable at off-idle, but it's there all the time. Still and all, a great pleasure to drive.

My mom is looking for better fuel economy from an SUV/CUV, and is considering multiple makes/modesl. Her 2001 Envoy is averaging 15-ishMPG around town, which is the only driving she does. Needs something all-weather. Can anyone comment on the new body-style of Vue, and it's performance/MPG?

Given the luxury of heated leather seats in my mom's current Envoy, and it's quiet ride, in your opinion, would she be disappointed in the lack of those things in the new Vue? The mileage would be a vast improvement over her current situation. I'm going to go onto Saturn's website as soon as I post to see available options. Just need a real owner's opinion on the "ride" factor.

My mom needs an all weather "Northeast" vehicle, and would need 4WD. Does anyone have the 2006+ AWD Vue that can comment on MPG?

Thanx, tho, speedingticket.

I just purchased an '06 AWD V6 Saturn Vue with 15,000 miles. I was promised 19/25 MPG but have been averaging 10-14 MPG with a combination of city/hwy driving.
I talked with the dealer today and complained and they couldn't figure out what was wrong but agreed it was terrible gas mileage. He tried to tell me it's the cold weather (its in the 20s) but I find it hard to believe it would drop this much.
Has anyone else run into this problem?

I bought an 06 fwd with 15000 miles on it about 4 months ago and in warm weather city driving was arouind 17 to 18 mpg. Next time I refill I'll measure it but I believe it is around 15 now, which I am not happy with either, what did the manufacturer tell you to do???

My wife and I purchased a new 06 FWD V-6 Vue in April of 2006 with the intent of her being the main driver because I mostly drive my pick-up. It now has about 11k on it. The fuel economy of the Vue is a major disappointment to us as we downsized from a sedan with a larger engine that got better fuel mileage. Our average combination of 80% city & 20% hwy MPG for the Vue is 16 to 18. We have taken it on several trips and got as much as 24 MPG on the hwy with the a/c on. The dealer explained this variance from the suggested sticker 20 city / 28 hwy MPG as the engine not being broke-in, poor fuel and driving habits, which I took with a grain of salt as being a routine explanation. We are elderly and my wife drives the car mostly for shopping which are generally short city round trips of 5 to15 miles. I drive the car when we go together, again generally short trips, which I feel, is the main reason for the poor city mileage. I feel the engine is a little cold-blooded and doesn't get hot quick enough to lean the fuel mixture for much of the short trips. However, we live near Dallas Texas so the hot weather should help somewhat in this regard. We intend to keep the Vue for now because other that the fuel mileage, we love it. Can’t say I’d buy another though.
