I have a 2011 Silverado and it has the same issues. I have purchased GM vehicles for over 30yrs (This is my last one !!!!!!!!!). The last GM vehicle that I had that gave me excellent service was a 1992 Silverado new $17,000 and I had it almost 10 years, purchased a 2000 Silverado new $30,000 (engine knock and cheap design),2008 Avalance new$34,000 ( cam had to be replaced 45,000 miles and when the transmission down shifted it felt like the rear end was moving to the front of the vehicle, 2011 Silverado ext cab new $34,000, the doors rattle, transmission does not allow you to be an easy driver it is either to slow or you have to floor it to make it move. Some of the issues GM has had them for years and they still have not improved the quaility that the customer is looking for since we paid a lot of $$$$$$$$$$ for their product. I have an old 1983 Silverado that my Dad purchased new and he gave it to me and in many ways that old body is better than a new one. I know there are issues with other trucks, but I will not take a chance on GM ever again. Spent over $90,000 in the last 10 years on junk GM vehicles!!!!!!!!!!

#220 of 265 2010 Sierra Vibrations 65-75 MPH by tcritty

Nov 10, 2011 (3:02 pm)

I've pretty much had it. I bought a 2010 Sierra Crew cab and within weeks the vibrations started at 65-75 MPH. The tires have been balanced 3-4 times, the alignment keeps going out, all 4 tires were completely ruined at 25k. After several alignments and tire balances, the dealer replaced the front tires with new ones but they put the old fronts on the back. Within a week I ran over a nail and brought it to NTB to fix as the dealer was closed. They said I had severe tire chop. Brought it to discount for a 2nd opinion...same thing. They both said there was something wrong with the front end. The dealer has tried and tried and gave me BS answers like.."its road noise". Truck is in the shop now and has been for 1 week. This is the 3rd GM I've bought in 4 years and I'll be going lemon law if they can't fix. I'm almost ready to got to Ford. I should not have to go through this crap for a year after spending 40k+ on a truck.

tcritty,

My 2011 GMC Sierra 5.3 6 speed has pulled right since new (April 2011). It also has a very "choppy" ride. Selling Dealer aligned it within weeks of purchase. Still pulled.

At my expense, had a diffrent Dealer rotate and balance the tires within a few months of purchase (that was tough pill to swallow considering the truck was practically brand new).

Recently, had same Dealer align truck. No change. Truck still pulls and has a choppy ride.

District Specialist states "operating as designed!"

I have a 2003 chevy silverado 1500 4x4. Last week my front end started to vibrate/hum at around 60 to 70 mph. I thought that the 4 x 4 axle actuator was engaging the front axles causing the vibration. I pulled it and it wasn't engaged. I noticed gear oil had came out of the vent hose on front differential. Feels like the vibration is effecting power as well, like its causing resistance. I would like to resolve the issue. I'm affraid driving it like this will cause more costly repairs.

#224 of 265 my 2011 gmc also has vibration by wibotaford

Dec 06, 2011 (5:28 pm)

hi folks
well i must say i am a very very dissatisfied with my new truck!!!!!!!! this will likely be my last GM for sure. i wish i had my 2003 GMC back!!! i have owned it from middle of sept and its been in the shop every thursday except 2 thursdays since i have had it. first i took it in for vibration in the front. they have force balanced all the wheels, replaced 1 rim and all 4 tires. the service advisor tells me it is normal???? like WTF is that. i have 3400 miles on it. my 2003 drove like a dream. i am in talks with gm now, but it looks like i will get nothing done?!?!?!?!?! when i took it in last thursday, i complained about a noise in the back end of the truck thinking that the spare tire may have come loose? nope, they called me and said they were replacing the rear axles!!!!! like 3400 miles and it needs new axles!!!!!! my truck is red i am already thinking it should be yellow, A LEMON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i also took in with me last thursday a piece of trim that fell off when i was washing it!!!?!?!?! like WTF is that? there was no glue on it. this truck was built in indiana not mexico, where i could see this being a defect!!
as a new vehicle owner i am VERY VERY DISSAPOINTED with my new truck. i have owned 5 new gmc trucks since i started driving 32 years ago, and i now think i should still listen to my dad when he tells me to drive a ford!!
i am so lost for words as im disgusted about this and that the dealership here in Chambersburg PA, Jennings, are not going to do anything about it but tell me its the nature of the vehicle.
i tend to disagree with them as a $40 k truck should drive flawlessly!!!!!!!!
i also dont care much for the way the 6speed trans holds in gear till it needs to shift. NO WONDER ITS SO HARD ON GAS!!!!!! which doesnt impress me either as my 2003 got 20-25 mpg and i havent got over 16 with this new one and its 8 years newer! being that much newer it should get better gas milage than my old one!!

I AM JUST SO UPSET OVER THIS BULL CRAP OF DEALING WITH A NEW VEHICLE. i bought a new one not to be in the garage and i now have spent more time there with this new truck than my old one....SOMETHING WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE!!!! no wonder GM almost went under...maybe they should have with the junk they are sending out on the market to sucker people in to buy!!
gm should also look into some more invigerating colours for their junk like YELLOW!!!! if you got LEMON,it should be the right colour!!!!

sorry folks...just sour taste in my mouth...LIKE A LEMON.....

dont know what to do now with this hunk of junk!!!

Neil,
I am sorry to hear how dissatisfied you are with your new truck, and can understand how having a new vehicle in for repairs so frequently is frustrating. It sounds like, from your post, you have contacted Customer Assistance already? Were you provided with a Service Request number? If you would email that to us, or the last 8 digits of your VIN, we would be happy to investigate the situation further.
Regards,
Sarah

hi sarah
well no i dont have a service request number, wasnt given one. if you could help that would be greatly appreciated as i dont think the person handling this has a strong enough personality to deal with the service adviser.
i also would like to mention that i had to borrow a vehicle as one was not given to me or offered. it has been at the dealership for over a week and i havent heard from them at all? the only way i have heard or know anything is from the district specialist. why is this? why hasnt the dealership called me? my last 8 digits are b2309253.
why have i had to borrow a vehicle to get to and from work? and to top it all off, i am driving a 2001 saturn with 180,000 miles on it, which at 45-65 miles an hour has NO VIBRATION WHAT SO EVER. but i am being told that this is normal with the new GMC sierra and it design. well if i had known of this i would not have bought it. i have had several trucks out for test drives since last feburary when i decided to buy a truck. i chose new as the used ones were not in nice shape and the prices were like new, so i bought new. WHAT A MISTAKE this has proven to be. but none of the ones i took for a drive had no vibration at all. and some of these vehicles were GMC,s.
this is POOR service and POOR quality from a company who has been around for so many years. a company who took the publics money to save itself from bankruptcy.
where is the dedication to the public that general motors wants to buy their product...NONE!!!! but expects the public to buy their product and put up with this kind of treatment!!!

Hello Neil,

I would like to get a Service Request established for you. Unfortunately, when I used the last 8 digits of the VIN provided, I wasn't able to access the vehicle's information. I'm sorry for that delay.

If you're willing, please email us the full VIN, as well as your name/username, complete contact information, and the name of your involved dealership.

Thank you in advance, and I apologize for the delay.
