I recently bought a Bully Dog programmer and was running it in the performance mode on my 2000 Z71. Yesterday while driving it, all power going to the drive shaft was lost and there was a loud metal grinding noise. The transmission seems fine however since using this programmer when sitting idle then accelerating there is a slight delay in response then a jerk into first gear... it felt like the torque converter might have broke or some bolts may have sheared off from this over. When put into any gear including reverse when in idle now makes this grinding noise and it wont even sit in park. Any clue on any of this would be most helpful. thanks!!

Hello all, I am new here and this is my 1st post. I have hopes that someone in this forum can tell me what is the problem causing my 83 truck to not move in Drive or 2nd? It is full of fluid and it appears red and not burnt or brown. It has been changed within the last 10k miles. Could it be the modulator valve? It will go in L1 and Reverse and when put in drive you can feel it engage and try to move but it just kinda makes a whining noise. Same with L2. I thought I would ask before changing the modulator, fluid, and filter, and wasting the money, same. I may need it for a total rebuild which I am sure will be expensive. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. |

Hello All, I just registered and did some searching and browseing but i didn't see any posts with my exact problem so here it is.... Firstly, here's what i have: 2002 Silverado 4X4 Z71 Vortec 6.0 engine 4L60E Automatic Tranny Mileage = 40,000 I just replaced the Sun Shell and i now have reverse etc. however, i have slippage in 'D' which is present in 2HI and 4HI. No slip in 4LO and no slip in reverse in any range. Before the Sun Shell took a dump everything was okee dokee (well... Chevy okee dokee with the normal clunks etc.) but no slipping. Fluid level is at proper level and once it gets moving it will shift gears. If i manually shift ie: put the gear selecter in 'FIRST' no slip. Now, i assume that i must have missed something. I did pull the pan back off and recheck everything underneath (replaced the VB gaskets while it was out). Now... I have been told a couple of different things by a couple of techs but i don't want to say what they said as i want some fresh views and then i'll compare notes. Any input appreciated!!! Dave |
