RE:874
Good luck with your new ride.
Sounds like a great deal.
What extended warranty did you purchase?
I was under the impression that the only Hyundai extended warranty was 10 years 100,000 miles bumper to bumper with no co pay.
Is this a new product or a non Hyundai warranty?

Floridabob,

My mistake about the warranty. It is for 10 yr 100,000 miles, not 120,000 as stated in my previous post.

On a side note, while I was waiting for the paperwork to be done, I saw a brand new Buick Lucerne in the showroom (the dealership was one of those multi-franchise). When I opened door, I noticed that driver passenger door edge had this cheap looking plastic molding. That thing had a sharp edge (kinda like those in a cheap toy where the edges are sharp). I found it interesting that a car costing 28k-30k would have such a cheap molding.

Congratulations. Sounds like you got a great deal, better than your earlier ones. Enjoy the car, its a heck of a car for this price.

Hope you weren't charged for the programming for the lock features, exit features and the limp home settings......

Well, I still need to get those programming done. When I bought the car, it was late evening & their Hyundai tech wasn't there. I need to go back to the dealership to get the 2nd master key programmed (they gave me only one master key) and the floormats.

The dealership wasn't too difficult to deal with, so hopefully they wouldn't try to pull that trick. Right now, the door Lock/Unlock feature works. But the easy-exit doesn't work & Limp home probably isn't as well. So, I'll keep my fingers crossed that I don't have to fight with them over this.

This car drives wonderfully & is so luxurious! Sound system is fantastic & looks great. Yesterday the wife & I went for a drive & I could see that there were many cars who were looking astonished at this 'Hyundai'. Just to jiff them, I raised & lowered the rear sun-shade Before Azera, my previous rides were Kia Sephia & Hyundai Accent. I tried to drive with the sunroof open but the wife started screaming at me to close it (Her hair getting messed up- Methinks women are too touchy with their hair). I would have to drive it with sunroof open when she's not in the car.

Another thing, the date of manufacture on my car is Feb 26th, 2007. I haven't heard the dreaded 'clunk' in the suspension yet & I did drive over some rough surface & drives like a dream. Do you guys think that I may have the new suspension 040 part?

Another very important doubt I have is about the keys. As I mentioned earlier, they gave me only one Master Key. They told me that my car was a dealer trade & when they got it from the other dealership, it came with only one key. They promised that they would program another key for me.

My question is, should I be worried about the safety of my car? Since I don't know who else has the other master key? What do you guys think?

I wouldn't worry about the key thing. I mean, what are the odds? Someone, somewhere has to have the same key and programming as your car.

Who knows, maybe they'll even get to other "original" key from the other dealer.

In any event, don't pay for programming of features that are included in your car. You already paid for them when you bought the car, the dealer just did not perform a full dealer prep. late in the evening.

Congratulations, you got a great car. One of the things that impressed me was how quite the car is with the sunroof open without a wind deflector.
Not sure about the extended warranty value, but their bumper to bumper does not cover everything for 10 years/100K, e.g. audio. Read the booklets that either come with the car or Hyundai sends out later.
I looked at a Lucerne at a car show recently. Apparently you have to get the V8 to get any kind of decent performance and by then you are in the $38,000 range. Nice looking car and I liked the interior layout, but not as much as my Azera.

07 Limited Price Paid & Experience by rdx_dood

Very pleased with deal and experience on Dec 15 at Ourisman in Laurel, MD.

New '07 Venetian Blue Azera Limited with XM and Ultimate Package. Paid $26.2 before tags & title. Would have been $24.2 if I had taken the rebate, but 0% financing saved me $5.6k (assuming 8% over 60 months). Got the deal done in less than 24 hours. Plus I got a free bike for my kid.

If you have a written quote, be sure to use it to your advantage. It's like a coupon at any other dealer. Also, you might want to check the invoice date (on Carfax) or build date. It can help you estimate the number of days that car has been on the lot, which might indicate how desperate the dealer is to unload it. I think national average for days on lot is 64 days.

I like the Azera better than my Acura RDX, provided that it holds up in the reliability department. My boss said it felt like riding in a Lexus (seriously).

Good luck all, and happy holidays!

I got an offer of 25k for the same car in Chicago. Can I get a better price in this area?

Wow! You got a great deal on your Azzy! I bought mine (Venetian Blue Limited w/ Ultimate) last month in the Houston area & my price was 27k before TT&L with the 0% APR. I thought I got a deal but you did very very well!!

Dude, Azzy rides like a dream! Better than my friend's Lexus & has more toys than Lexus! I'm averaging about 20mpg in city driving & 26-27mpg in mixed city/freeway driving.

I just love the 0% APR offer! Saved me a ton of money!!

Just a small tip: Make sure that the dealership has removed all plastic coverings on seats, door handles etc. When I bought mine, I used to hear a screeching sound & squeals & I was annoyed. I then looked around & found that the dealership had left a number of plastic covers on in the seat area & the sunroof area. Removed the plastic & quiet as a hybrid!
