Wwent to Anderson SC dealer this morning. No Azeras on the lot. However, they are changing locations by Feb 1st, so may not be ordering many.

Guys,

Today I went to North Freeway Hyundai here in Houston in my search for a good deal on 07 Azera Limited w/ Option 25. I had been in contact via email with most of the dealers here in Houston. However, this particular dealership didn't give me a quote over email but wanted me to come over. Since this is near my place, the wife & I went this eveing.

After we parked & got out of the car, nobody greeted us. We walked over to the receptionist & asked for the guy who had emailed me. We took a brief test drive & sat down for negotiations. Their first offer was over 31k OTD without the rebates (29k with 2000 rebates)! It was the most expensive quote I had had & I told the salesman that. He went to talk to his manager & came back & told me that they would go down to 30400 OTD without rebates (28400 with rebates OTD). I said that their offer was the highest.

Then he said they couldn't go lower than that. I got up & left. Their offer was atleast 1.5-2k higher than other dealers. But salesman was pretty friendly though, I felt sad that he couldn't get a commision out of me. But then again, it is my money & I rather be careful in spending it.

I'll hit other dealers in the area who can come close to my numbers & I'll keep you guys posted.

I had been thinking of buying the Azera since May-June & since then I have been checking these forums for the prices as well as the availibility of Azeras at local dealers. Since the past 2-3 months, I have been observing that most of the local dealrs seem to sell only 2-3 per month. If count the total number of Azeras in Houston by checking the dealer inventories, may seem to still have 4-5 in stock. My guess is that the Houston area dealers must have atleast 20 Azeras between them.

So, I know it is not a 'glut', just my misuse of the word. But if anyone is looking for a little better choice in colour & trims, they may look at Houston if their local dealers are out of stock.

Up here in DFW, purchased late Sept. '07, my Azera Limited with option 25 was around 28K before 1500 rebate. Did not include TTL. Do you go in with a print out of their dealer cost? There are a number of sites that offer that for free. Dealer I got it from has a number of Azeras, Freeman Hyundai, Irving, Texas. My two other dealers I worked with were all around this price range before rebate, did not include TTL, they just did not have the color we were looking for. There are about 7 or 8 dealers in the area so competition I believe is pretty good. I would think you should be able to offer them something just over or at dealer cost not counting the rebate offer. Pay attention to the last six digits of the VIN, the higher the number the newer the car. Good luck, so far we love the car.

At this time of the year, you should be able to buy an Azera with XM & Ultimate pkg for no more than $25.5K (after rebate, plus doc fee & TTL). OTD, depending on your sales tax, should be in the $27K range.

At this time of year, you should be able to get a below invoice price before rebate, doc and TTL unless your local market is quite high.

I got it yesterday!!!

I bought a Venetian Blue 07 Azera Limited XM with Ultimate packaging for a price of 27k before the rebates with 0% APR for 60 months! If I had chosen the rebates, then the price before the rebates would have been 25k!

So, the total OTD (including all fees & TT&L) was 29k with0%. In lieu of the 0%, if I had chosen 2000 rebate, the OTD price would have been 27k! I think I got a good price, what do you guys think?

The dealer was Wiesner Hyundai in Conroe, as suggested by our forum member jlindh IThanks jlindh!!) I did all my negotiations over the emails & my salesman was very professional. My wife & I drove out to Conroe & arrived a little early than our appointment. The reason was that I thought that traffic would be very bad & so we left a little early to beat the traffic. Another saleswoman assisted us (on behalf of my salesman). We did all the paperwork & were out in about 3 hours. Couldn't have been better. I'm going to rate them very high on the satisfaction survey.

Ofcourse, there were some minor issues. Instead of 2 master keys, they only had 1. And the floormats were missing (they had in other color). But I was told that I could go back & they would get the floormats & reprogram another master key for me. No sweat, as I need to go back again to get the Lock/Unlock, Easy Exit & Limp Home programmed. Still I would rate them highest.

I also bought 10yr 120,000 warranty for $638. Now, I'm not sure if I should have bought it. What do you guys think? Is the extended warranty worth it?

RE:874
Good luck with your new ride.
Sounds like a great deal.
What extended warranty did you purchase?
I was under the impression that the only Hyundai extended warranty was 10 years 100,000 miles bumper to bumper with no co pay.
Is this a new product or a non Hyundai warranty?

Floridabob,

My mistake about the warranty. It is for 10 yr 100,000 miles, not 120,000 as stated in my previous post.

On a side note, while I was waiting for the paperwork to be done, I saw a brand new Buick Lucerne in the showroom (the dealership was one of those multi-franchise). When I opened door, I noticed that driver passenger door edge had this cheap looking plastic molding. That thing had a sharp edge (kinda like those in a cheap toy where the edges are sharp). I found it interesting that a car costing 28k-30k would have such a cheap molding.
