I bemoaned the fact that the 07 Azera did not have a full sized spare. Called my salesperson and he told me they did drop it for 07 as they found that 06 owners were not using the full sized spare. Jezz-us, how the hell would they know if someone got a flat and needed to swap tires? New full sized rim for the 07 is about $252 and a tire is at least $100 plus. He did say the well on the 07 would fit a full sized tire and rim. I'm buying one, I don't want to have to drive miles on a donut if I get a flat out in the middle of nowhere.

CAJazzfan, thank you for the update. I agree w/ you ... no love for the donut!

My salesperson back-pedaled a bit when I expressed surprise that the literature conflicted w/ the reality of the spare tire.

FYI that Nissan Maxima provides a full-size spare w/ the top trim level, and then only w/ an options package.

07's When on the East coast? by rutan74

Anyone have a idea to when the 07's will appear on the east coast?

I live in the Carolinas and so far, no 07's to be found anywhere. My dealer says they are only available on the west coast and in the midwest at this time. Can't figure out why Hyundai is holding up delivery to the east. Inventory? Dealers around here do seemingly have a glut of 06's though. One dealer here has about 40 left on their lot!

Currently in negotiations for an Azera but of course, the dealer is trying to stroke out another grand or so! Best deal so far is 26.1K for 06 Limited with Premium (Fitz-mall has same car for 25.8K), but that is not the OTD price. Dealer wants 600 in doc fees! Hah! I asked what exactly does that 600 cover? He replies, and this is no joke, "nothing". He really said "nothing"! So I am supposed to just give you 600 out of the kindness of my heart?

So far, two dealers, same story line here in the Carolinas. 600 doc fees! Why every dealer charges this they tell me!! Coming from New England, this is the first time I have encountered 600 doc fees! I can see 80-100 in doc fees covering titling and such, but 600 and as he said, for nothing! All this and he didn't even attempt to use a gun to rob me! I still think 26.1K is to high for a leftover!

Maybe they will be more willing to deal when they get some 07's? So, does anyone have any info on when the 07's will appear in the southeast? According to Fitz-mall in Maryland, they don't have any either.

strange..

RE 285
My local dealer ( South East Florida) claims thay they have not been given a ship or release date for the 07. He says that there is a glut of 06's in inventory in the state.
This isn't a great sign for the flagship model of Hyundai.
Maybe they should start listening to and responding more to customers and local dealers.
Most owners agree that the Azera is good, but that with a little more of something, could be great.

3-4 little things would make the 07 Azera drop dead top of the line. Nav system..better thigh support on front seats. I have the Ultimate package and even with the adjustable pedals, I could use about 3-4 more inches in the driver's seat travel. Different backlite on radio/temp screens to match odometere and tach backlight. I know I'm nitpickin, but these are my observations after 400+ miles in the car.

I personally don't get this explanation and in fact find it quite amazing.

They release 07's to over half the country but not the east coast? I saw were someone bought a 07 in Wisconsin, but don't know of any 07's further east.

Frankly, I've never heard of such a thing. Usually, the dealers are all to anxious to get the new model and thus offer steep discounts on the leftovers. Now in the case of the Azera, Hyundai is holding back the 07's from the most potential buyers in the country! More people live east of the Mississsippi than the rest of the country combined. So, this just makes no sense at all.

One local dealer is advertising on their website that the 07 Azera is "in", but looking at their inventory only shows 4 Azera's and they are all 06's.

I've looked at about 10 dealerships in the Carolinas and Georgia. My closest dealer has the most inventory of Azera's (this dealership has SE's if you can believe that!) while the majority of the other dealers are only showing 1-4 cars in stock!

So I am still puzzled at why Hyundai is holding back the 07's!

I am in the philadelphia region and I know that there are 2 dealerships in the area with 2007 Azeras. One dealership has 2 of them and the other has 4 of them. and they aren't willing to lower the price that much on them. *sigh*

I am from Wisconsin and just bought the 07 last Wednesday.I bought it from Arrow Hyundai in Milwaukee. They have 6 of the 06's left in stock and now have 8 of the 07's in stock.Great dealership. Got full book value for my car and paid invoice on the new one. Sage Green and beige interior. Lots of complements and for the short time I've owned it I just love it. No hold backs in this part of the country.

Hi rutan74 -
I've recommended them so many times, I should start asking for a kick back.... I purchased my 2006 SE Premium from Great Lakes Hyundai in Streesboro, OH for $22.6K It also included floormats & sunroof wind deflector (which I'm removing anyway). It was a 8.5 hour trip back to NY, and that includes two stops of 30 minues each. I would imagine that the drive back to the Philly area wouldn't be much more.

They have great deals because of the volume they do, they will find a car for you if they don't have the color / option combo you want (they did for me), they even picked me up at the airport. Heck the airfare was only $100 on Southwest. They currenntly have a few Azera's on ebay. Tom & Andy's cell phone numbers are also on the ebay postings.
Good Luck!

RE 291
I'm not sure that you guys are comparing apples to apples.
06 is going to be a lot cheaper now than 07.
The 06 is now a one year old model.
