25,500 for an Azera Limited. This appears to be lower than all the prices I've seen, including those I've seen quoted on this thread. I am baffled. Hearing a dealer make an opening offer for a price lower than anything I researched was the last thing I expected. Is there something I am missing here? And what kind of counter-offer should I consider in such a case?

The color we want was not even displayed in the showroom, and I guess that's why it didn't occur to me that he might be quoting a car that was used as a demo.

Last week I finally made my purchase of an Azera with Ultimate package. Thanks to all the info from everyone I finally was able to make a good deal here in NC. I called the Great Lake Hyundai dealer in Ohio like I had seen in other posting and they truly were the best price by far. Their price was $1,137 below my best local price of($27,530) There offer was $26,393 before tax and local rebate. I was prepared to fly to Ohio and drive the car home for this price. I called my local dealer in Winston Salem NC, and told them I was prepared to purchase from an Ohio dealer unless they could match the price of $26.393 before a $500 rebate. They agreed to match the price of $26,393. When I went to close the deal they refused to honor the $500.00 rebate telling me their price was $26,893 less $500 rebate = $26,393. I argued till I was tired of arguing that they should provide the $500 rebate and the final price should be $25,893 with rebate. I left the dealership mad and did not purchase. The next day I decided to go ahead with the deal as I was sick and tired of arguing over $500, as it would have cost me $350 to $400 to go fly to Ohio to purchase the car and drive back to NC. To be honest I was happy with the deal and wanted to put this ordeal behind me. I now have 380 miles on the Azera and really love the ride. The Pearl white with Tan is a beautiful combination. |
