Recent Azera Purchase by mrnext1

I purchased my Azera Limited Ultimate 2 weeks ago completely on-line. I used the E-bay Store listing referenced above by Charles12 above. It was an OUTSTANDING buying experience! The only thing that could have been better was if the salesman would have parked it in my garage for me!

The sale was priced as follows:

                Base Price $26,765.00
                Rebate - $1,000.00
                Doc Fee $125.50

                Total $25,890.50

The best price I could get locally (Bloomington, IN) was $1,100 higher and I had to accept what they had on the lot in the wrong colors. So instead of paying more for something I didn't want, I drove the 400+ miles to Great Lakes Hyundai in Streetsboro, OH (Cleveland area). The salesman even offered to pick me up at the airport if I flew in. It was quit amazing when I arrived - 12 Azeras awaiting delivery lined up in the service center. 2 for IN, 1 for PA, 1 for TX, 1 for FL and that was just two day's deliveries!

I had my doubts when the whole purchase started because (based on the Edmund's wholesale value) they were losing money at this price. But that E-Bay purchase was for real and well worth the trip to Streetsboro. Everything they told me was honest and they dealt straight from the very beginning. None of the old car dealership haggling. Their only caveat is that you have to make the purchase over the web (E-Bay or e-mail). I will be going back shortly for a Santa Fe when the 07's come out later this summer - I'm that sold.

Seems like I got an unusually low quote - why? by nynewcar

25,500 for an Azera Limited. This appears to be lower than all the prices I've seen, including those I've seen quoted on this thread.

I am baffled. Hearing a dealer make an opening offer for a price lower than anything I researched was the last thing I expected. Is there something I am missing here? And what kind of counter-offer should I consider in such a case?

Does it have the Ultimate package? Was the car used as a dealer demo (how many miles are on it?)

No, we didn't want any of the (very few) offered options. The standard features list is pretty comprehensive and certainly enough for us.

As far as being used as a dealer demo, I didn't ask! What answer would I be hoping for to that question? If it is, is he obliged to disclose that fact?

The color we want was not even displayed in the showroom, and I guess that's why it didn't occur to me that he might be quoting a car that was used as a demo.

Your quote of $25,500 for an Azera Limited without the Ultimate package is not that good of a deal. I paid $26,000 and got the Ultimate package.

mrnext1 I read all of the threads here and I purchased my Azera from the same dealership that you did. As a matter of fact the one car you saw waiting for pickup for Florida is mine. The one waiting for PA is a friend of mine we are going to get them together. I did a lot of research and the best prices is at Greatlakes hyundai in Ohio. I recommend them to everyone.

$26,000 was both mine and the dealer's opening offer. It made the negotiation easy.

Last week I finally made my purchase of an Azera with Ultimate package. Thanks to all the info from everyone I finally was able to make a good deal here in NC. I called the Great Lake Hyundai dealer in Ohio like I had seen in other posting and they truly were the best price by far. Their price was $1,137 below my best local price of($27,530) There offer was $26,393 before tax and local rebate. I was prepared to fly to Ohio and drive the car home for this price. I called my local dealer in Winston Salem NC, and told them I was prepared to purchase from an Ohio dealer unless they could match the price of $26.393 before a $500 rebate. They agreed to match the price of $26,393. When I went to close the deal they refused to honor the $500.00 rebate telling me their price was $26,893 less $500 rebate = $26,393. I argued till I was tired of arguing that they should provide the $500 rebate and the final price should be $25,893 with rebate. I left the dealership mad and did not purchase. The next day I decided to go ahead with the deal as I was sick and tired of arguing over $500, as it would have cost me $350 to $400 to go fly to Ohio to purchase the car and drive back to NC.
To be honest I was happy with the deal and wanted to put this ordeal behind me. I now have 380 miles on the Azera and really love the ride. The Pearl white with Tan is a beautiful combination.

I have been looking at the Azeras and decided to go to my local dealership in Anaheim next to The Pond, and I brought with me the ebay listings for the dealership talked about in prevoius postings. I walked into the showroom, asked for the internet manager and gave him the MSRP and sale price. I told him I wanted the one with a MSRP of 30080 and a sale price of 26,817. He went in the back and in a couple minutes said that if I bought one that was on the lot, he would give me that price plus all rebates. I ended up wanting a color combination that they did not have, but regardless they found in less than 20 minutes in Long Beach. So bottom line, 26,817 sale price - 1000 rebate - 400 College Grad Discount = 25,417. And it is an Ultimate package with sunroof wind deflector. Sounds like they would give this type of deal to anyone. Gread thread and thanks for the info.
