I don't think you'll go wrong and it's a sharp car. We have used the 4 wheel drive here in chi town and with a couple trips it was as stable as can be, I just hope we never have to repair any of the 4 wheels stuff. Are you looking new? I would drive a used one to see if there's any rattles or quirks that would annoy you later on. I drove a 20,000 mile one and felt a vibration through the gas pedal over bumps but it was the same as what I had on my new one. I will say it's cheaper also than mine. My wife love the looks and more rugged feeling (The V seems to ride smoother). She has had numerous compliments and even one woman wanted to buy hers. I'm a car guy and have had numerous "cool" cars but my wife actually is fired up about it. (Even with the expense and quirks).

Yes, I'm looking new. Interesting idea about driving a used one to see about any rattles or shakes. You just never know with used cars, though. Perhaps one has been in an accident, maybe the other has been owned by a family with kids who kicked the seats, etc., etc.
There aren't too many V70s left on the lots. There are two (at different dealers) that I'm interested in. One supposedly has premium, convenience, climate and BLISS, according to the salesguy, but on their internet site it says just climate, premium and BLISS. I hope salesguy is right and the website is wrong, as I do want that convenience package.
Found another one where the site does not list the options, but by the MSRP given, I *think* it has what I'm looking for, can't tell for sure.
You would think that dealerships that are clever enough to know people want to see info on their internet sites would be competent enough to actually put up complete descriptions of what packages are on what cars, but sadly, that doesn't seem to be universally true.

I'm off today to see another Volvo dealer who has a Caspian Blue with Climate, Convenience, Premium, and Sirius radio. No NAV or backup camera. Can the NAV be installed after-market? Is it worth getting, or am I better off getting a portable unit?

The factory Nav is outdated and way, way over priced. You can install your own with an OEM screen and use all the latest cutting edge software for a fraction of the price of the factory unit. See: http://forums.swedespeed.com/zerothread?id=113238&page=4

Good to know, thanks.
Another question, particularly for any sales guys posting here: I found a car that is very close to what I want about 40 miles away. This is the dealer I'll be going to today.
There is another car that I *think* is exactly what I want (I'm waiting for a confirmation from the sales guy as to options and equipment) but 120 miles away, about 2 1/2 hours driving time. Am I better off driving to that second dealer, IF we can agree on a price by e-mail beforehand, or asking them to do a dealer trade with a dealer more local to me?

Re NAV, we have built in NAV in our Toyota Sienna and I find it's overly complicated. DK about the Volvo NAV. I have a portable Garmin that works just fine in my Mustang and Saab and it's a heck of a lot cheaper than the factory version, plus it's portable. I can't imagine what would make me go for a factory integrated NAV in a car again. Just MHO.
As to to cars on the internet, a buddy of mine has worked as a salesman for a variety of different brands over the years and he tells me that in most cases the on line inventory has to be posted and updated manually, so it's very often incorrect and out of date. I would call first to make sure the car really exists and that it's optioned as described before going to visit a dealer.

If a dealer knows you are interested in his car, he won't trade it to a dealer closer to you, for them to make the deal..
If you tell your preferred dealer about the car, they may be able to make a trade for it, but make sure you negotiate your price ahead of time. Once you contact the dealer that has the car, the chance of them trading it to someone else is about zero.

#389 of 390 Incentives programs for May
by meteop34
May 04, 2010 (9:57 am)
Are there any incentive programs for May on 2010 XC70 besides 0% APR? I know that in March and April there was around $6,000 cash back based on marketing dollars if the car was financed through another bank. Are there any marketing dollars for May from Volvo?
Thank you.

Hi, I'm thinking of buying/leasing a XC 70 and wanted to get information on what others are paying for this car these days. Thanks!
